The frequencies used to create these sun blocking clouds are playing havoc with my sleep and causing me chronic earache. Have a dreadful headache and burning sinuses this morning. WE DON’T WANT THE SUN DIMMED. Geoengineering is criminal!
@GOVUK@uksciencechief@metoffice
@chatswithem And what will that do to global prices?
Remember, the tories sold off all the reserves to oil companies. So it isn't "Ours", they'll sell it to the high bidder, at market price.
Is there enough oil in our part of the North Sea to move the needle on price, globally? Answer: no.
@WindsorDebs@GOVUK@uksciencechief@metoffice@jackmrankin@RupertLowe10 Ask yourself why your government and their overlords are so desperate to block your sun out.
Ask yourself why there is no upward budget of this mass poisoning of humanity that is happening 24/7 365 across the entire planet.
Just ask yourself.
@ProudBrit19 The one you linked is valued as a good price, too - and why has the one I've linked sat around since late 2024 or early 2025? A demonstrator would have been driven more than 90 miles, and the beautifully waxed ones in the showroom typically aren't registered yet.
@currybum87 Not quite the same is it? It was only listed for sale 27/04/2026, 9 days ago. AT value it at £33,400 so at £34,900 it is above book, not discounted.
This Audi A6 e-tron Avant was registered 30/01/2025. Listed for sale 09/10/2025, so first owner kept it for just 9 months. It's done 6,254 miles. It still hasn't sold despite 7 months & an eye-watering £32,101 (-39%) price reduction. EV madness.

@Specialized_Cb@ProudBrit19 .. so the holdouts will cry foul at that point, but I'm glad I got in early.
If the situation in the Straits of Hormuz does not get solved within the next couple of months (maybe? Maybe not?), the price of oil is likely to soar. Little dips lately will not cancel that out.
@Specialized_Cb@ProudBrit19 Indeed. Of course, it's politically bad to crank fuel prices up.
But as a result, subsidies also exist for the purchase of new EVs. They're filtering down into the secondhand market, too - there'll come a point where it's politically acceptable to tax fuels more.
The @SMMT results for April U.K. car sales are in and break new records. BEV uptake reached a record 26.2% share of registrations in the month. Year to date, BEVs comprise 23.1% of the overall new car market, short of the 33% target but well ahead of the mandate once allowances made for hybrids, etc.
April also saw the two millionth battery electric car registered (2,012,758), following bumper growth of 59.1% compared with last year.
Consumers are reacting to petrol price hikes and the desire for alternative energy sources.
@ProudBrit19@Specialized_Cb And the US market is comparable to the UK market? Over there, they seem to think that anything short of a full F350 with a V8 is "gay".
Whereas sales for EVs here keep trending upward.
Why have petrol and diesel cars needed the fuel duty freeze since 2011? That costs billions.
@currybum87@Specialized_Cb As I've said before, EVs only sell with massive discounts, tax payer funded incentives (salary sacrifice) and other direct subsidies. Take them away and the market stalls. Look at the US.
"EV Sales Just Crashed After the $7,500 Tax Credit Disappeared"

@Specialized_Cb@ProudBrit19 Indeed - lots of folks at my workplace have done that.
Some of the people who sneered a year or two ago are now asking for advice on which EV to get & how much the running costs are in my experience..
@currybum87@ProudBrit19 The 10% to 20% AI reference was 'sold to private' users (highlighted below)
I'm a private user, paying for my EV but it's not categorised as private because it's a salary sacrifice car
Thousands of my co-workers doing the same, and lots of others in other businesses doing it too
@ProudBrit19@Specialized_Cb@AndyatAuto Oh, one more: We should prevent petrol or diesel vehicles from being near schools. There's a strong link between exhaust gases and damage to health.
Should we not defend the brains that'll be the future of Britain? Or does your pride not stretch quite that far?
@Specialized_Cb@currybum87@AndyatAuto Fairness and a level playing field. Scrap the ZEV mandate and all the tax payer funded EV incentives and let EVs & ICE compete on their own merits. If EVs are better then they will outsell ICE vehicles naturally.
@Cornishview If they rust, then they're made of iron.
Burying them will therefore not be a problem.
Are they rusting after all? Or are you making that up?
Good Morning #ClimateChangeAlarmists and #RenewableEnergy#monomaniacs. 12000 rusting expensive wind mills are producing just 18% of UK demand at the moment. is that the future after 2030 when we stop using all fossil fuels - or is it 2050 now ?
@teslaloosa No? Because it's only really America that calls petroleum "Gas(oline)". It's petrol over here in the UK, or Diesel for the smelly slime from the black pump.
EV enthusiasts: I'm begging you to stop using the term ICE for gasoline cars when talking to The Normals. They don't know what you mean. Just say gas car.
@ProudBrit19@Specialized_Cb@AndyatAuto And let's remove the fuel duty freeze too. That escalator was supposed to earn lots more money.
Level playing field, after all, right?
@ProudBrit19@Specialized_Cb@AndyatAuto We have not just seen it. A screenshot from an AI is not proof.
AIs will hallucinate. They'll make something up. It's as trustworthy as your pal down the pub who swears down that he had a threesome with two of the Sugababes before they were famous.
@Specialized_Cb@currybum87@AndyatAuto ICE cars don't get the same click-bait bullshit headlines like:
Seismic uptick in EV sales
EV Sales Hit Record High
Best month ever for EV sales
Electrified vehicle sales soar
And as we have just seen, it is all nonsense. It's almost like there's a conspiracy.
@Specialized_Cb@currybum87@AndyatAuto Can you not read? It very clearly says "it could be upwards of 20 per cent". Maybe as much as 30 per cent? Those are significant numbers. The headlines hide the truth. That is why I care.
@currybum87@Electroversenet Tell me, why is it that anonymous posters are always so self opinionated and totally wrong? If you haven't got the balls to be identifiable why do you think anyone gives a toss what you say?
Britain has paid billions in subsidies to build thousands of turbines across its countryside, but when high pressure systems move in, wind collapses.
During these calm spells, wind generation can fall to almost nothing, as low as 0.2% of the grid.
When that happens, the grid scrambles, coal is restarted, gas plants carry the bulk of the load and supply warnings are issued.
This is the reality few in power seem to grasp. When the weather calms, which it regularly does, wind power disappears from the grid. Britain only stays online thanks to dispatchable energy systems picking up the slack.
The country would be better off, both financially and in terms of energy security, if it simply ran off dispatchable power in the first place.
@AndyatAuto@SMMT Just a reminder that these figures are for registrations NOT sales. And we all know manufacturers and dealers are furiously pre-registering EVs to cheat the ZEV mandate target. Can you please stop referring to them as sales. Thanks.
@GBNEWS To make sure the UK taxpayer get value for money, any civil servant who doesn't go into the office every working day must be replaced by someone who is prepared to do the job they are paid for.
1/ The world is very rapidly running out of refined fuel due to the Strait of Hormuz blockade, according to a new Goldman Sachs report, with only 45 days' worth of stockpiles of jet fuel, naphtha, and LPG remaining. Rationing, surcharges, and mass cancellations are forecast. ⬇️
