All Syrians are saying that liberating Sednaya's prison is more significant than destroying Berlin's wall. Years of fear, torture, death, and subjugation will end tonight.

Thirteen and a half years ago in March 2011, a group of teenagers in Dara'a, Syria spray painted: "Your turn has come, doctor," in reference to Bashar al-Assad. They were arrested and tortured, which led to protests in what would become the Syrian uprising. Today is for them.

My advice to journos covering Syria: this is a complex story to tell with a criminal regime, bad actors, foreign influence & uncertainty of what's to come. Tell complex stories, but center your stories in the agency of Syrians. It's their story, their country, their freedom.

It is so crazy that after almost 14 years he goes out with barely a whimper. Hope for Syria they can turn a page here and build a country for all Syrians. ❤️

I need people to remember that a black man won the popular vote twice and a woman won the popular vote once but lost bc (among other things) of electoral college/bad strategy. Do not let people say this country won’t vote for a woman. The majority of voters literally did lol.

You don’t have to support Hamas policies to stand up for Palestinian rights, that’s a complete falsity. You think the worse thing you can say about Hamas, multiply it by a thousand times, and it still will not meet the Israeli repression and killing and dispossession of Palestinians. And 'anybody who criticises Israel is an anti-Semite' is simply an egregious attempt to intimidate good non-Jews who are willing to stand up for what is true."
