@BrickCenter_ The idea that because Wemby said something to his teammates when going to the bench that he must have told them to injure McCain is an absurd leap. Biyombo’s clearly wasn’t even dirty either. If people were saying this about Shai because of whispering I’d say the same thing.

Wemby whispered something to Bismack Biyombo and Mason Plumlee as they checked in during garbage time... They both immediately picked up DIRTY fouls on Jared McCain 🤔

@lirishfwanime I mean getting ejected was bad. The 11pt game was awful offensively but insane defensively and also broke the blocks record. He was getting criticism for games 2 and 3 this series but those were great games, just slightly underwhelming by Wemby standards. Today was just awful.

@JoestarJokic Wemby’s worst playoff game by far imo (outside the elbow). People were cooking him for games 2 and 3 this series but they were legitimately great games, just slightly subpar by Wemby standards. This was an actively awful game that likely cost them the series.

@BradeauxNBA Wemby doesn’t even need to win tbh. Wemby can with the series and be worse than SGA or better and lose it, it’s a team sport. SGA had a better year overall and deserved MVP over Wemby but Wemby has been the BITW statistically these playoffs and since February imo.

SGA vs. Wemby in the Conference Finals so far: SGA: 24.8 PTS, 3.3 REB, 10.0 AST, 2.0 STL, 52.7 TS% Wemby: 30.3 PTS, 13.3 REB, 4.3 AST, 1.3 STL, 3.0 BLK, 65.1 TS% Best in the world is Wemby’s if he wins this series.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has played 35 playoff games over the last 2 seasons, shooting 334 FT attempts in that span. His 334 attempts rank outside of the top 1,000 for most FT Attempts in any 35-game playoff span in NBA History. He remains the Finals MVP Favorite on Kalshi.

@UnderdogNBA I think this is mostly the right approach, you can always do better, and he has flaws he can work on. But you also need to be aggressive sometimes and takeover. There’s a balance and he’ll probably figure it out but the Thunder are a team where you have to play perfectly to win.

@Wemby_Muse Wemby is sixth in points per 100 possessions and eleventh in true shooting this playoffs while also arguably having the greatest defensive playoffs since the NBA merger. And it’s his first playoffs ever, plus he’s only 22. Absolutely insane.

@HoodiiBron This feels like when Jordan Stan’s would just start bashing early LeBron super aggressively because deep down they were worried LeBron would be a goat contender later on his career.

@theblockspot Kareem is clearly 3rd imo. Bill Russell is 4th for me but I know some people who strongly disagree. Then in no particular order the clear 5-12 list is Wilt, Bird, Magic, Shaq, Tim Duncan, Curry, Hakeem, Kobe. Jokic is right outside there and can move up with continued success.

@chad_helmke @aryh21 Agreed. But even still he’s 9th in ppg in finals history with +4.4rts and averaging 6 assists to 3.5 TOV . 10th in playoff ppg all time with+5.6rts and 6.1 assists to 3.3 TOV. With arguably the greatest offensive gravity and offball impact ever + elite playoff advanced stats.

@curulewski @aryh21 2015-2016 drags him due to the Cavs attacking him on defense and given his standards only averaging 24 a game throughout the 2 finals with almost the same turnovers as assists averaged on 42 % shooting.

@aryh21 1 finals MVP and KD (legitimately) outplaying him in their 2 finals together makes his playoff and finals preformances seem waaaay worse than they are. Like there’s legitimately no statistical argument he’s not an elite playoff performer.

@aryh21 It’s funny that people use the playoffs or finals to put down Steph when he’s objectively one of the best playoff and finals performers ever just going off box stats, even moreso if you use advanced stats or advanced on/ off metrics at all.

@Finishurbkfst23 @Quadripolar_B And you can’t even use accolades to argue Kobe is superior to Jordan! Jordan had 4 more MVP’s 4 more finals MVP’s than Kobe. Kobe’s one of the greatest players of all time. He also has zero case to be better than the arguable GOAT player, Michael Jordan.

@Finishurbkfst23 @Quadripolar_B Jordan averaged 30.12 points per game and on +3.4rts. Kobe averaged 25.1 ppg and 35.8 per 100 on +1.9 rts. Jordan averaged 5.3 assists to Kobe Bryant’s 4.7 assists, Jordan had 2.7 turnovers per game to Bryant’s 3.0 per game. And Jordan gets even more dominant in the playoffs.

@Finishurbkfst23 @Quadripolar_B Michael Jordan averaged 33.4 points per game in the playoffs on+ 4.5ts. Kobe averaged 25.6 on+1.2rts. 5.7 assists and 3.1 TOV to Kobe’s 4.7 and 2.9. He handily leads Kobe in everyadvanced metric that goes ba k far enough to Jordan’s era in either playoffs or the regular season.
