I’ve been activated. Beyond my uniforms, it’s nice to have a small piece of home. It’s a 5x7 of my parents on their 50th anniversary with an inset of them as newlyweds. I’ll be busy but safe. I’m asking God for wisdom, humility, integrity and protection. If you think of us, please pray for my teammates and me. #WHIP #OpEpicFury

It’s my first time in a union, and also my first time seeing how easily people without disabilities treat disability & sick day demands as the most “obvious” potential concessions during the earliest stages of negotiations. It is so hurtful

@LisaKeshet @PeterBeinart @AbbyChavaStein What is a country if not the sum of its parts, including the policies it enacts in service of its violent, genocidal, colonial project, and well as its ugly foot soldiers (e.g. you)? Wildly out of touch but that is par for the course

What do you mean, Peter Beinart (@PeterBeinart), when you say “people who dislike Israel” shouldn’t conflate this with American Jews? Are you referring to people disliking Israel or Israeli policy? Israel is not Israeli policy. Don’t conflate the two. This is why Jews say “we stand with Israel.” We stand with Israel as the sovereign ancestral homeland of the Jewish people. We may not always stand by Israeli policy but we always standby our indigenous sovereign homeland.

People who dislike Israel should not conflate it with American Jews -just as people should not conflate the PRC with Chinese Americans or ISIS with American Muslims. And (not but) synagogues should not say "We stand with Israel" because it encourages that conflation. It makes congregants less safe but, more importantly, given what Israel is doing, it's morally indefensible. It's like a Russian Orthodox church saying "We stand with Russia" after the invasion of Ukraine. peterbeinart.substack.com/p/lessons-from…

@KennyBurgosNY @TexzTyme You’re implying that a $100,000+ “gut renovation” would be necessary to ensure the premises abides by the warrant of habitability, which is a fucking stupid thing to imply. Uninhabitability is a legal status, and there are not 50,000 uninhabitable RS units in NYC, you bum.

Zohran Mamdani’s housing advisor, Sia (CEA) Weaver, isn’t freelancing. This is DSA ideology in policy form. And make no mistake — when they say they’re waging a war on the white middle class, they’re waging a war on the entire middle class. Because stability is not oppression. Stability is what working people fight for. It’s why we unionize. It’s why families buy homes. Calling homeowners “the problem” isn’t progressive — it’s reckless. When DSA-aligned politicians lump working-class homeowners in with Wall Street, they don’t hurt corporations — they protect them. Wall Street survives regulation. Small owners don’t. Divide renters vs homeowners. Divide race vs race. Divide worker vs worker. That’s how working people lose power. Real justice builds people up. It doesn’t punish the people who made it one rung higher. 🎥 Watch the full breakdown 💬 Comment if you see the setup 📤 Share if you’re done with class warfare dressed up as progress 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐓𝐮𝐛𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐛𝐢𝐨! #ny #nyc #fyp #newyork

@NYCMayor @NewYorkStateAG Odd that you refuse to mention the community (Palestinians) which is the principal target of their violence when hatred of said community (Palestinians) constitutes their organizational bedrock, & without which they would not exist (to advocate for the genocide of Palestinians)

For years, Betar has sowed a campaign of hatred across New York, trafficking in Islamophobic extremism and harassing those with whom they disagreed. There is no place for their bigotry in our politics, and I'm grateful for @NewYorkStateAG's unflagging pursuit of justice.
Peter Sterne@petersterne

NEW: NY State Attorney General Letitia James reached a settlement with far-right Zionist group Betar US, which will result in the group disbanding. The AG's office investigated Betar for "violence against and harassment of Muslim, Arab, Palestinian, and Jewish activists."

Merry Christmas to NYC’s Department of Social Services, deeply appreciate the letter I received the day after Christmas telling me I have to repay $2,100 in unemployment benefits because they made an “administrative error” ❤️

The more that I study anti-Jewish movements, the more I am convicted that antisemitism, broadly speaking, functions to reset the moral compass. When antizionism will be totally exposed for what it is, a hatred of the Jewish people, what will also be rejected are the moral fallacies of categories of good and bad based on oppressed and oppressor. The virtue of decolonization will be examined , and with it the demonization of America and the West.

An Egyptian taxi driver refuses to take a passenger after he bought alcohol from a shop in the Dokki area, Giza Governorate, Greater Cairo, and gave the passenger a one-star rating. The driver says: “The customer told me to stop here so he could buy a drink. I thought he meant coffee, but I found myself in front of a liquor store. I asked him, ‘Are you going to buy alcohol?’ He said yes. I told him, ‘I’m sorry, I can’t continue the trip.’ He asked why. I told him, ‘The Prophet cursed alcohol and seven associated with it, including the one who carries it.’”

@constans @neilkli “there’s literally a place they can go” right, except there often isn’t, and organizations across the city have been actively waging battle against both city- and state-legislative efforts to undermine the right to shelter.

@constans @neilkli Are you under the impression that shelters don’t get full in the winter? That shelter stays are indefinite and without conditions (gender, family makeup, asylum status, etc.)? A broad legal mandate in name is not a guarantee in this country regardless. That’s not how it works.

NYC has a right to shelter! It’s not like people in homeless encampments have “nowhere to go” — there’s literally a place they can go that’s not camping out on the street. Allowing the encampments to exist isn’t doing a favor to anyone
