We had a great visit today from USDA Missoula Fire Lab. Dr Sara McAllister is spending two days with us at Imperial talking about wildfires, both flaming and smouldering ones. It is always such a joy to talk to her.

Today, @ImperialHazelab hosted a visit by @marti_manes from @LivUni. It was great to hear about her involvement in EUFireStat. The project aims to harmonise fire statistics in the EU and other participating countries. Really awesome and opens door to data-driven methods in FSE!🤓

This Monday, we had a visit from @EPSRC at @imperialcollege and our lab, @ImperialHazelab. I presented my wildfire flame spread demo to them. For some fun, we conducted a race between the horizontal and inclined cases... I'm sure you can guess which one came out on top! Haha 😄🔥

On Thursday and Friday, my summer student, Simona, and I wrapped up her project where she designed and created a lab demo to showcase flashover in compartments! It's really cool to have this educational tool in @ImperialHazelab , and I'm excited to build on it in the future! 🔥🔬

Wednesday, I was fortunate enough to attend a talk by Jose Torero on the significance of competence in engineering fire-safe timber buildings. He argued that without the proper foundational competency framework, safety becomes a luxury accessible only to those who can afford it.
