Simple reason Starmer won't give a referendum is that he will be bound by the vote or else he is on not a democrat.
But we can still bind the UK Gov with a vote, if we use an election.
More major countries (19) used elections than a referendum(4) for independence from the UK.

@Janela_X When Argentina’s government was facing difficulties in 1982, it decided that deflection tactics were necessary to take the spotlight off their domestic failures. The SNP attempting to redirect their spotlight into Reserved Matters for the same reason. Their failures in Scotland.

@AgentP22 Independent economists produced reports on iScot sometime ago. They remain under lock&key. Presumably the reports were less than optimistic about the viability & survivability of an iScot.

@DanNeidle On a human note, buying your primary residence 300 miles away from your disabled son just doesn't make sense to me, unless you don't really want to see him very often. I am currently buying a house for my disabled son (for similar reasons to AR) and it is under 5 miles away.
