🚨 PSA: Active attack campaign! Be careful when accepting unexpected call invites, even from people you do know. Attackers are compromising accounts and impersonating your co-workers, business partners, and friends as part of a convincing social engineering attack.

Journalists, be aware of a current Telegram scam with one of our members, Mitchell Moos Be extra cautious of any invites to join any meetings originating in TG, even if you think you know the person — these scams are elaborate

Aave

We are aware of a front-end attack on the CowSwap front-end. This does not affect the Aave Interface or the Aave Protocol. As a precautionary safety measure, the CowSwap team has temporarily disabled swap endpoints for integrators. In the meantime, swaps on the Aave Interface are being routed via ParaSwap, where available, to ensure continuity.

OpenAI
OpenAI@OpenAI·
We recently identified a security issue involving the third-party developer library Axios that was part of a broader industry incident. We found no evidence that OpenAI user data was accessed, that our systems were compromised, or that our software was altered. Out of an abundance of caution we are taking steps to protect the process that certifies our macOS applications are legitimate OpenAI apps. We are updating our security certifications, which will require all macOS users to update their OpenAI apps to the latest versions. This helps prevent any risk—however unlikely—of someone attempting to distribute a fake app that appears to be from OpenAI. You can update safely through an in-app update or at the official links below. 🧵

“They figure out your trends, your life cycle,” said the detective. “What do you normally order online? What do you normally order for takeout? Where do your packages normally come from? And then the suspects are disguising themselves as Door Dash drivers or UPS delivery drivers — finding a way to get you to your front door and open the front door.”

Wrench attacks are NOT just a physical security issue. This story explains why. Three crypto wrench attacks between SF and LA were a direct result of criminals exploiting the leaky digital footprints of their victims. The victims were targeted because they were known to have very large crypto holdings. The criminals spent time surveilling them online, identified and utilized recycled passwords they found in breach data, and then got into the victims' DoorDash and UberEATS accounts to get insights into what they were ordering. The attackers then posed as delivery drivers and showed up at the victim's houses with the same type of food that had been ordered. In one case the criminal pistol whipped the victim and held him at gunpoint before making off with $10M in BTC and $3M in ETH. These targeted attacks were enabled because of weak digital security. Here's the first step in protecting yourself from wrench attacks: Lock down your digital footprint.

A violent crime ring appears to have used hacked DoorDash/other app data to target wealthy crypto holders in the Bay Area and L.A. Armed robbers, posing as delivery drivers, arrived at victims' doorsteps, carrying an item the victim had just ordered. sfchronicle.com/crime/article/…
