URGENT CALL TO ACTION IN SUPPORT OF INDIGENOUS AUSTRALIANS There comes a time when silence is betrayal. Jilya founder, psychologist & Nyamal woman, Dr Tracy Westerman AM says: “leadership means you take a stand for others more than you take for yourself”. This is THAT moment, Will you join us? All you need to do is sign this petition, the focus of which is to repudiate the rhetoric and leadership of Senator Jacinta Price. Generated by the Westerman Jilya Institute for Indigenous Mental Health, we hope that you will stand in solidarity with Indigenous people to ensure the protection of our future health and wellbeing. We are hoping to receive an overwhelming and united response, sending a clear message that Indigenous Australians deserve strong leadership to address generations of government failures. We encourage you to sign this petition, and please share across all of your networks! We want to send a clear message in the lead up to the election this Saturday! change.org/p/urgent-call-…

What an utter disgrace, @abcnews. Macca and Dick Smith on Australia All Over ranting and talking down renewables, bagging CSIRO, getting very political, and talking up nuclear power, for close to an hour, largely unquestioned by genuine experts. WTAF.

🚨NACC finds no corruption in Paladin investigation. Please read the facts. They are staggering. This finding highlights that the watering down of the NACC legislation between the Govt & Coalition has made it ineffective.Act clearly needs amending. #auspol themandarin.com.au/256706-nacc-fi…

Today Labor CELEBRATES that Olive Downs coal mine opens, planned to operate for 80 YEARS 🤬 This was underwritten by $175 MILLION OF OUR MONEY, again thanks to Labor 🤮 5500 hectares of koala and glider habitat is being cleared for the project, the size of Sydney Harbour 😢

@Lisa9Sophia @KosSamaras So Australia opened its arms to your grandparents in crisis and in return when it’s indigenous people are in crisis you turn around and say ‘NO, I turn my back on your suffering’. You have the opportunity to act with kindness and understanding and you choose the opposite.

See Kos I’m a Greek Australian also and because of European history it’s hard for me to swallow aspects of the indigenous narrative As you know the Greeks were invaded and occupied for hundreds of years. There were so many wars, and genocide. The Greeks were enslaved, dispossessed and brutalised. They couldn’t freely practice their traditions or religion. This all only ended after WW2 so it was recent suffering, personally experienced by my grandparents. In 1950’s when my grandparents made the decision to flee here they had no choice, there was a severe famine and Greece was trying to rebuild post WW2. They arrived and couldn’t speak a word of English, had next to no money, knew no one at all, and had never even travelled. They got here and sadly were exploited. Did they suffer intergenerational trauma? Yes. Did they feel resentment towards the Germans and Turks? Actually they did. Did they experience racism here? At first, yes Here’s the thing though, they were so incredibly grateful and thankful to be here. They quickly grew to love Australia and Australians. The saw the opportunity and potential, worked hard at three jobs and built their lives. They missed Greece and their families but even after all their suffering and trauma, daily they put their heads down and worked hard to make a contribution to our society. This immigrant story was and is repeated by millions of people here. But when you contrast it to the victim narrative of using the past to justify current patterns of behaviour that are negatively impacting individuals, or a community in our indigenous population, it doesn’t stack up. That mindset of blaming others only perpetuates misery. It’s magnifying the problems not creating a framework to build a positive future We should all be grateful and thankful for Australia

“Liberal Candidate” On a serious note. Did you know that many of us Greeks are related to Turks? Do you know why? You get no prize for guessing why. That’s what happens when you get occupied. The occupiers brutalise your women and girls. Getting rather sick of reading this dribble from actors who only gained a microphone because their political party stupidly put their name on a ballot paper.

@simonahac @BCAcomau ‘Natural’ gas as they’re so fond of calling it is a fossil fuel and fossil fuels must go. Couldn’t be simpler. Pure disinformation.

Good morning @ABCnews. If I had wanted to see Bruce Lehrmann being interviewed I would have watched it on Channel 7 last night. I de.iberateIy did not and I definitely do not want to see it on the ABC. It's not news. It's an opinion piece. Do better @ABCaustralia

I’m saddened and frankly embarrassed that my home state, the state of Dunstan’s progressive social democracy, is legislating draconian anti-protest laws. The nation’s toughest. And, it’s being done by a Labor gov. SA used to lead on social reform. This is an overreaction. @alpsa
