core v30 is not a neutral patch, it’s coercion by default. relay policy changes masked as “optional” but quietly flipped on for everyone. not consensus, not opt-in. silent shift in the schelling point. they edited docs in feb ‘23, post-facto, to cover tracks and block @LukeDashjr fix, protecting a spam vector. not a debate, a rewrite of history. this is how protocol capture begins: with edits, not commits. 5 devs gatekeeping the code, pushing defaults that benefit spam markets, while branding dissent as “untrustworthy.” classic psyop/ isolate, discredit, control narrative. education becomes gaslighting. “you just don’t understand relay policy.” no, we do. we see the pattern. silent changes. circular logic. a blacklist of contributors. appeals to authority, not code. keep your logs. the record matters. consensus dies not in forks, but in defaults no one asked for.

You pay the same price either way except one method requires your permission (sort of) and the other one doesn’t at all. If the rules can change without notice, then users aren’t interacting with a system they’re exposed to decisions. You don’t strengthen a product by: • altering upgrade paths mid-cycle • increasing effective costs without clear disclosure • restricting previously available strategies Those aren’t edge cases they change user economics. Real utility is built on: transparent rules, predictable outcomes, and user control. Otherwise, the trust model shifts from protocol → platform. And that’s a very different thing. Stay SAFU.
