In this specific example, because I know MT fans like to feel extra smug about it, Rudeus, with his adult mind, "jokingly" solicits sex from someone whom he perceives to be a child. And subsequently get's VERY excited when she starts undressing...

@Cthulhu_OwO my point is that if it really is about redemption, there should be a point in the story you can go "yeah, that's where he changed". the best redemption stories do this: Zuko ATLA, Anakin / Vader Star Wars. But you know what? I had fun in this discussion, I'll give S3 a try :)

@Cthulhu_OwO don't try to flip it on me, I'm always happy to be corrected, but in the case of MT, it's clear rudeus is meant to be a disgusting character at the start, there's no defending this. and you have to accept that a lot of people just aren't willing to sit through that.

@Cthulhu_OwO @ZelSnea we'll never see eye to eye on this but because he is mentally much more mature than the girls he's around, he should know better than to act in sexual ways towards them. him not doing so and taking advantage (meaning to or not) of his appearance is predatory.

@Cthulhu_OwO love media illiteracy has become this buzz word used to discredit anyone's opinion on stories. I've asked you for examples and you didn't give any: at what point was rudeus punished for his predatory actions post reincarnation? at what point did he show growth from perversion?

@Cthulhu_OwO I haven't seen a single example or scene of him being a better person what do you mean? you understand that in a story, there needs to be an establishing moment where he clearly shows he isn't that person anymore right?

@Cthulhu_OwO @TheUnrustleable @That_Guy_Xenon because rudeus is written to present that way, and it's re-established a lot during the first 2 seasons. just bc they're fictional doesn't absolve them of labels. I understand irl pdf is a serious issue but his character can still be labelled that when he has predatory traits.

@Cthulhu_OwO @TheUnrustleable @That_Guy_Xenon of course I do, I'd detest any character that gropes minors, goons to his underaged niece (WN), and acts generally predatory. personally I'm sure I'd enjoy parts of the series but those scenes where I'm reminded of what a PoS he is, is too uncomfortable to keep watching.

@Cthulhu_OwO Im not invested enough to be mad, again it's just interesting for me personally. and unless it happens in s3 (doubtful cuz I've heard he hasn't really changed), I don't remember when he has ever been punished for his actions post reincarnation, feel free to correct me.
