$100B in unfrozen Iranian assets. $300B in Iranian reconstruction funds. $600B in projected Iranian oil and export revenue over the next 10 years. Total potential economic benefit: $1,000,000,000,000. At an exchange rate of 1,570,000 rials per dollar, that equals approximately 1,570,000,000,000,000,000 Iranian rials. (1.57 quintillion rials)

@therealroseanne @DonaldJTrumpJr This is the creation for an Iran that the people can take back. There is no regime change without the people starting it. The US has learned its lesson and will leave the regime change to the people most affected by it

No one wants a forever war. But no one also wants to capitulate to the number 1 sponsor of global terror who just murdered 40 thousand of their own civilians in the streets because they want liberation from that terror. America is either going to fight evil or stay at home and ignore it to appease podcastistanians-you can’t do both. Pick one.

It's hard not to notice that nearly all the people shrieking like psychopaths about my father's peace deal to end the war, opposed him in 2016 and in the 2024 primary. He achieved his goal and destroyed the Iranian nuclear program, but sorry guys, he's not doing an endless war!!!
Cernovich@Cernovich

Look at the Never Trump cover of National Review. Those are same people going after JD. He shouldn’t lose any sleep. lol. They all went all in against MAGA in 2016, and lost. Look also at the 2024 primaries. Same usual suspects. Not one Iowa caucus win.

Time will tell Like the eye of any hurricane there is a small window of calm after the initial storm and before the rest of it. Since 1979 when America was paralyzed for a year as Iran held over 50 American hostages, Iran has bedeviled one American president after another while it advances its goals of regional instability and eventual domination. The fight over nuclear weapons is not the main event — that is just a proxy for the war they are waging against us in the West. The President initially broke this pattern of facilitating their advance and their use of proxies funded by their oil in Lebanon, Yemen and Gaza. He destroyed not just the nuclear facilities but much of their armed forces and leadership. The administration was close to ending the regime of terror and reclaiming Iran for the Iranians, Lebanon for the Lebanese and taking Hamas out of Gaza — which would have been historic in nature. Instead a 180 U-turn with a deal to make a deal with a regime that has now been recognized as legitimate after slaughtering tens of thousands of their own people is instead underway and the Iranians are seeking to own the Strait of Hormuz, own Lebanon, rearm Hamas and advance their power rather than retreat. As most military analysts suggest near total victory has been turned into near defeat. And paradoxically the Republicans and the MAGA voters all wanted the president to continue and so from a political point the base has been split and deflated. This is far from over. The Iranians will push to water down each and every point in the MOU as they seek to quickly re-establish their dominance in the region, their cash flow to their terrorist network, and their enhanced control of the global economy. The question is whether we ultimately will let them.

@dMig29 @Osint613 Humanity signed up for eradication of terrorism, not hurting them, and giving them money and time to recover. We didn’t pay higher prices of gas for terrorism financiers and supporters to still be in existence. If trump won’t end terrorism, someone else will and soon.

Taxpayers got stuck with a $14.8 million renovation of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. Days later, algae returned and parts of the new coating are already peeling. Just like every government project: over budget, and under delivered.

The Rational Animal 🤔
The Rational Animal 🤔@theobjectivist·
It is always the same story with these minions. They name the disease and shield the man who caused it. You're right, Senator: handing billions to theocratic lunatics who want us dead is insane. But read your own sentence. Who is doing the handing? It is Trump. He signed the MOU. The text, in writing, commits to a reconstruction plan of at least $300 billion for the regime, unfreezes Iran's assets, waives its oil sanctions, and terminates every sanction we hold, all before the real negotiation even begins. And watch Vance work the shell game. He swears no "taxpayer money" goes to Tehran, because the $300 billion is routed through regional partners and Iran's own unfrozen funds. But the U.S. grants every license and waiver that makes the money flow. We are clearing the path to rebuild a regime we had beaten. The source of the cash does not change the act. So spare us the "poor advice." The advisors didn't sign it. He did. Name him, or admit the warning was theater. You have all literally lost your minds.

I disagree. And not because I like Trump. I think the MOU has to answer some important criticisms, but I also think things have changed — Abraham Accords, destruction of Iran’s military and leadership, Midnight Hammer — and investments aren’t pallets of cash on cargo planes.
Batya Ungar-Sargon@bungarsargon

Every Republican defending this MOU knows that if a Democrat had signed a document like this, they'd be blasting them to kingdom come. It's actually worse than the JCPOA. Iran made out like bandits. And now they know they can bring us to our knees with a few mines.

Trump killed 50 of Iran's top leaders, did at least $1 trillion worth of damage to their military equipment and infrastructure, totally wiped out their naval fleet and air fleets, put their government in a state of endemic internal conflict, and left them totally incapable of meaningfully attacking their neighbors in the region any time soon. By the end of it, all Iran could do is rig the strait with mines and take pop shots at passing ships. The loss of insurance coverage had more of an impact on the flow of marine traffic than Iran did. I personally would have preferred the total destruction of the IRGC (which technically isn't off the table if they decide to FAFO) but it would have been difficult to accomplish without more civilian casualties -- something third worldist leftoids were already complaining (and campaigning) about. In the meantime, consider the following: No boots on the ground. No prolonged conflict. No permanent occupation. No military draft. No lasting impact on energy prices. No multi-trillion dollar boondoggle. None of the things anti-war retards with Israel tunnel vision like Dave Smith and Candace Owens predicted would happen. In addition: - Oil and gas prices are falling in time for summer and the midterms. - "Free Palestine" third worldists like Graham Platner have less ammo on which to campaign for Congress. - Russia is bringing in less revenue. - The U.S. got a foot in the door to block China's Belt and Road projects. - Trump has greater latitude to tighten sanctions on Russia without exacerbating supply shocks to energy markets. - Europe and America have agreed to increase cooperation in providing for the national defense of Ukraine. - Israel isn't a signatory to the MOU and isn't bound by its terms, leaving it free to independently defend itself from threats if necessary. - America isn't creating a power vacuum for China and Russia to fill by absconding and surrendering its own influence over the region. The people who say this is a "humiliating defeat" for Trump? - Russia - China - Iran - Democrats - The leftist Drudge-led media establishment All the worst people you know have joined arms and are pretending like Iran pulled one over on the Bad Orange Man in hopes that it will piss off Republicans and Israelis enough to get them to kill the deal themselves. It's very transparent. Don't let your enemies control you with such a stupid and obvious Reflexive Control op.

Trump could not launch a ground invasion of Iran - the American people would not stand for thousands of our soldiers being killed for a shaky regime change. He could not bomb Iranian power and water plants without hurting the Iranian people he wants to help. So what is left if you want to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons? Economic carrots and sticks - pay for performance sanctions relief and allowing foreign investment. And that's exactly what he is doing.
