I dug into the @openclaw codebase today. And I finally get what makes it special. 1 • It meets you where you already are. There is no new app or no new UI to learn. Instead, it works directly in apps that you already use every day like WhatsApp, iMessage, Discord, Slack, etc. Chatting with the AI is like chatting with your friends or coworkers. 2 • It actually does useful things. It has 50+ skills and tools that let it do practical things like browse the web, write and run code, control your devices, search your notes, schedule tasks, render live UI, etc. The code is modular, so you can add your own tools very easily. 3 • It runs however you want. It's self-hosted on your devices (e.g. Mac Mini). Your data stays local and you can control the permissions and privacy settings. There is no vendor lock-in: you can use LLMs from the large labs like Opus 4.5 or run local models like Kimi K2.5. Overall, there’s an important shift. With OpenClaw, you don’t go to the AI. Instead, it shows up where you already are.

Just open sourced OSOR Agent. It's an agent built on OpenRouter, Inc that lets you pick whichever model you want to use inside OpenBB Workspace. What it can do: - Pull data directly from your dashboard and keep it in context - Create table and chart artifacts that can be added to the dashboard - Cite the actual widgets it's referencing - Show its reasoning step-by-step - Use MCP tools The whole point: you don't need to be locked into a single model. Use Claude, GPT, Gemini, Llama - whatever works best for what you're doing. In the example below, I'm using Gemini 2.5 Pro to analyze Top Events from Polymarket and asked it to surface which events I should pay attention to in the "FED" category. I found this clip from Sorcery's episode fascinating - the quote about 85% of investment work being automatable today, and how the bottleneck isn't the tech but implementation. So I recorded a quick demo showing how we're thinking about this at OpenBB, using Snowflake upcoming earnings as an example. The workflow: I pulled together Polymarket earnings predictions, historical analyst estimates, and fundamental metrics for Snowflake into one dashboard. Then let our AI agent analyze it all - including pulling additional context from the web - to generate an earnings analysis. The whole thing took maybe 3 minutes. What excites me isn't just the speed. It's that this dashboard can be saved, shared with my team, and the prompt reused for any ticker. The analyst doesn't get replaced but enhanced. With more time to cover more companies or go deeper, or both. Financial services has always been slow to adopt new tech. But the firms that figure out implementation first are going to look very different from the rest.
