He makes worlds that swallow you whole and then puts action inside them Blade Runner 2049 bombed at the box office because it was too slow and too smart for mainstream audiences.. Then Dune proved he could do both.. Now imagine that same patience and visual weight dropped into a Bond franchise that has been coasting on formula for decades Bond films have always been about the spectacle first and the character second.. Villeneuve flips that every single time.. He will make you sit in silence for two minutes watching Bond stare at a wall and somehow that scene will hit harder than any car chase The real wildcard is the casting.. Him wanting an unknown British actor instead of a big name tells you everything about his approach.. He doesnt want star power competing with the film itself This could either reinvent the franchise or alienate every casual Bond fan alive.. There is no middle ground with this guy
