The Mutiny There are elements in the right-wing attacking me for appealing to Trump to impose sanctions on Amit and on Baharav-Miara. Their claim is that I am expressing despair over elected officials and weakening them. It seems to me that we can agree on one clear thing: so far, they have failed to restore sovereignty to the people, and the power of the juristocracy today is significantly greater compared to the period preceding the reform. We have a nullification of a Basic Law without authority, and we have an entire doctrine—"the bureaucrat as leader"—under which the High Court of Justice, led by Amit, has weakened elected officials vis-à-vis bureaucrats. It's hard to argue with facts. Shlomo Filber likened me in one of his posts to the little child in "The Emperor's New Clothes," who simply states the simple truth: "The emperor is naked." It seems to me that the people are with me on this point. But there is another simple truth that must be stated: the politicians and the right-wing media are misanalyzing the situation we are in. They see it as a routine power struggle between institutions, an expression of friction between branches of government that needs to find a point of balance. And therefore, they are building outdated tactics of trench warfare, like in World War I—tactics that do not lead to results, but only to stalemate and even deterioration. As an international researcher in the field of comparative constitutional law, I declare that what is happening in Israel is nothing less than a "mutiny" by the juristocrats against the fundamental principle of democracy: the sovereignty of the people. I base this determination on a clear and unequivocal comparative datum: there is no other legal system on the face of the earth in which judges have taken such great power for themselves without explicit authorization from the people. None, not even one. And every researcher in comparative constitutional law knows full well that Aharon Barak's conception of law is exceptionally anomalous on a global scale—to the point that American jurists have dubbed him nothing less than a "legal pirate." From the moment one understands that this is a mutiny, different tools are required to confront it—not sporadic fixes of the kind that the government, in its failure to grasp the situation, is trying to promote. In a mutiny, one must respond with the tools of a mutiny. This means that the Knesset must declare the juristocracy to be in rebellion against its sovereignty, to show proactivity and not merely reactivity, and to declare a "state of emergency"—exactly as Yitzhak Amit did de facto in the ruling on the Civil Service Commission. It must appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the affair, such as Attorney David Bitton, Attorney Tzion Amir, or Attorney Ro'i Kahlon, and establish a judicial tribunal to accompany requests for arrest warrants against those who, allegedly, are acting against the people's sovereignty—Gali Baharav-Miara and Yitzhak Amit. And let no one say that I did not suggest a direction for exhausting legal proceedings before turning to Trump. We are in the month of Nisan, the month in which the people of Israel went from slavery to freedom (in Nisan they were redeemed, and in Nisan they are destined to be redeemed), and if the politicians do not do what is required—of a professional standard and out of a sober understanding of reality—I will do what is required to take the people of Israel from juristocratic slavery to democratic freedom.

Not only had they not known each other before. Joe Kent, while acting as the head of counterterrorism, actively sought her out to push the narrative that Israel was behind Charlie Kirk’s murder.
