I just hit 19,000 readers on Medium. Coming up to 3million views. I'm no Hemingway or Dostoyevsky, but I've learned to reverse-engineer my audience so every blog post feels like I'm speaking to them directly. I failed every English and English literature class in school, and an old report card I dug out the other day reads, "Jayden's writing is poor, and he must improve." Well, Mrs Schlemer, I took that to heart. My mission now is to help those who enjoy writing but need help figuring out where to start. You can earn $1,000 (min) monthly with below-average skills but above-average effort. I'll post everything I've learned from writing over the last two years here to X for free, forever. The month after my mom died, I thought fuck it. Life's too short. No matter your age, nothing ever prepares you for the sudden loss of a parent. I think about mine every day. Slowly, something changes in your mindset. For me, every bit of fear left my body, and it's made me explore things I've been curious about but never entirely leaned into enough. Writing was one of them. In my first month, I earned $1, but that wasn't enough to cover the transaction fee, so it was never paid. The second month, I was paid $8, and when that minuscule amount of money landed in my account, it changed my mindset forever. It represented one thing... FREEDOM. Freedom from the commute to work. Freedom from a wage slave job. Freedom to talk shit on the internet for a living. All around things I enjoy. I wish my mom was still here, but I can't change that. I'm slowly accepting the cliche that "Everything happens for a reason." I don't care how big my blog ends up becoming. I just fucking love doing it. Every day, I get up and try to improve it by pushing the needle a little further. If you're afraid of posting things on the Internet, it might be because you care about people's opinions, like I did. Hitting publish was and is the most significant thing I've ever done.
