We need to find a way to consolidate efforts in Africa. There is too much fragmentation that keeps our industries and economy weak. Too many fragmented businesses. All of us want to be CEO. We need more scale and M&As.

YouTube is easily my favorite app. I spend at least 20+ hours on it every weekend. One minute I’m learning how to value the most complex derivatives instrument just for the fun of it and the next minute, I’m halfway across the world through a travel vlog experiencing cultures I’d never otherwise see…..all from the comfort of my apartment. Today’s destination: Papua New Guinea

One of the pettiest, most effective revenge plays when your woman annoys you is logging into her YouTube and completely wrecking the algorithm by bingeing football highlights nonstop.

Investment banking is not for newbies. I have a friend who work with FSDH, he says it takes them years to close one deal. Early last year, he said their investment banker closed a deal that almost surpassed the banks 50% annual budget. Investment banking is not about advising someone to buy stocks or put money into one investment or the other. That’s not investment banking. Can you champion a merger between two companies? Can you work on a ₦100B bond issuance? Can you oversee the structuring of multi-billion naira transaction deal between two corporates? Investment banking is chaired by senior level bankers and top management executives.

Many of you do not have a reason for wanting Investment Banking. Clearly Bandwagon effect.

According to FAO, the forest sector supports 33 million jobs, with billions relying on forest products daily. This year's theme, 'Forests and Economies' emphasises that sustainable forests are key to resilient value chains and global trade. As regulations like the EU Deforestation Regulation reshape markets, traceability and responsible sourcing are essential for market access. Let’s work together to build transparent, data-driven systems that protect forests while strengthening livelihoods. #ForestDay #IntlForestDay #GenerationRestoration #EUDR #Agrolinking #Traceability

Once again, this raises an important question! Why is it that so many people operate under the assumption that capitalists should inherently be good or ethical actors? The reality is that individuals become billionaires through mastering the art and science of extracting maximum value for their own benefit and accumulation.
ripples@Adheydayor

Nigerians believe any thing of value you offer, regardless of the cost, is a net positive. It's such a stupid way to view things. Sadly, it's pervasive. We are stuck with billionaires extracting more value than they create.

This week's episode of @theFCshow_ is for everyone who thinks the path to building something great in Africa is only for founders. Talking with @gboukzi reminded me that for most people who end up doing extraordinary things, it starts with the most ordinary, unglamorous version of the work. Olumide's first job was as a canvasser in Ibadan. No network. No blueprint. Just a briefcase full of admission forms, sandals on his feet because his shoe size didn't exist in the market, and ₦6,000 a month to show for it. That hunger never left him. At SafeBoda, he scaled the brand to over hundreds of thousands of customers while spending less than 30% of his marketing budget. At QuickBus, he built three completely different commercial playbooks for Nigeria, South Africa, and Kenya because he understood early on that cultural nuance is not a footnote; it is the entire strategy. And at a certain point, he stopped being just the marketing guy and became the commercial leader, growing businesses. What strikes me most about Olumide is how clearly he sees the connection between mindset and outcome. If you work in marketing, growth, BD or as a founder, today's episode is a masterclass in growth and operations. If you want to hear about real field and guerrilla marketing and building for the grassroots, this is the episode to watch. I had a one-on-one meeting with one of our key developers today, and he mentioned that @AgroLinking is the first place he's worked where "customer first" is truly ingrained as a culture, not just a phrase. I was blushing behind my screen🥹 Still Day 1
