Made this profile to house my IWTVL obsession. Mostly here for thoughtful analysis but will gush over the Loustat of it all.

Tracking the clocks in the Armand and Louis scenes, and I think Louis survives decapitation for around five hours before Fareed sews him back together (5-10a). Guessing that makes him a class A vampire.

#TheVampireLestat creator Rolin Jones says that, if there's any "objective truth" in Claudia's seance scene, it's the revelation that she can't find Madeline in the afterlife. It gets him choked up just thinking about it.

@satansnightowl7 @foradarkgift And probably wanting to get Lestat the fuck out of there and into into the Escalade he had Arturo drive behind the bus so they could finally have their second honeymoon in the desert.

The fact no one bothered to give Lestat a more detailed status report on Louis (“he’s ok, he’s downstairs waiting for you, etc.”) before starting to cajole him into going performing. No wonder Louis sat away from the vultures.

Idk I feel like instead of being negative, if there’s things we want to see in season 4, we should just be vocal about those things. We know the people behind this show see what we say, they’ve incorporated things that we say, and a lot of that has just been negative. Maybe we

Watching that uncut munch scene is making me reassess my feelings around explicit scenes between Louis and Lestat. Maybe I *would* like to see it.

@sapphiciwtv Are people seeing this version of the uncut munch on the AMC+ platform because for mine it cuts off right before he looks up.

@CreativeSpoonie And part of his reaction will be happiness on behalf of Louis overcoming his own trauma to be able to say it.

in Louis love for him is significantly stronger now that he truly believes, in his own heart & mind, that Louis really does love him. Whenever Louis is finally able to say the words, Lestat won’t have to be smacked in the face w the shock of it. He won’t doubt Louis words.

I was just thinking the same thing as anon! Lestat being the one to realize on his own that Louis loves him is so much better for him & for their relationship than waiting for Louis to say it. It’s lot easier to doubt someone else’s words than your own certainty, so his faith

i agree 10000%. i had this worry going into this season irt loustat that is that i don’t think anything happening rn would be seen as genuine by lestat. not sex, not kissing, and much less a love confession. so yes, louis has his own growth to do to be able to say it, but

#tvlspoilers Man it’s strange to read days of furious reaction accusing writers of hatred and cruelty, excusing some characters and excoriating others, and then see this finale and find a beautiful treatise on how there is value in every life and something lovable in every soul.

@dabbleinfudgery Ghost is one of the movies that's made me cry the hardest in my life why would you say something like this (I love it thank you) 😭 what if that's how Louis recognizes Lestat when's he's on a new body... hello, evening primrose

Given that Lestat finally understands Louis's fear and pain around verbal love declarations, I think it'd be entirely cute if they came up with a private language for ILY ("evening primrose" "birds") like Patrick Swayze's character in Ghost did with "ditto."

@satansnightowl7 They could be phoning it in like 90% of other shows out there instead if giving us something sui generis and deeply weird and meticulous. Do I wish we ended with the concert, yes. But we got so many wonderful moments I didn't even know I wanted.

I respect this more than a safe adaptation. No it cannot work for everyone, and I don’t even think a lot of it worked for me, but that risk is what makes it art. We can interrogate and critique it because it’s art! They can fall flat on their faces, get back up and keep creating

@megmarklesbitch His reviews of The Sopranos redefined TV criticism, so I do recommend becoming familiar with his work and subscribing to his content. I'm going to go through the rest of his articles for TVL.

Paid the $7 so I could read Alan Sepinwall's review of the finale, and his criticism is eminently fair (not enough Daniel and Armand on-screen to understand or be invested in their motivations, some of the time collapse, memory kaleidoscope moments are hard to parse), but
