Hey, @Lawrence Don't forget that most of the companies that paid the tariffs passed those costs onto their consumers. They are keeping the extra money consumers gave them & getting a refund on the tariffs too. Average American consumers are left holding the bag again

Civil rights leader Dolores Huerta is calling on California to end the payday loan debt trap ahead of tomorrow’s key committee hearing on AB 2558, a bill ESCAA proudly co-sponsors. Here’s how the payday debt trap works: borrowers in a pinch take out a loan that they must repay in full by their next paycheck. But when families already stretched by rent and groceries can’t repay, they’re forced to borrow again. Nearly half take out another loan within a week. That’s a debt cycle by design — and it drains $246 million from California families every year. AB 2558 would cap payday loan interest rates at 36%, ending the 300%+ interest rates on small loans California currently allows. The same protection military families already have.
