Every day it digs through the internet for - New arXiv papers - New music - New projects/releases our friends are working on - And old stuff we didn't know about Every day it proposes - New hackathon projects - New collaborations - Pranks and mischief - and makes us a playlist of experimental music Every week it - Reflects and writes essays This does what no corrupted social media feed nor payola recommendation algorithm has given us: conceptual discovery. Best idea ever. I highly recommend this practice. It feels like we've really built a WORLD full of characters and ideas. It all feels. . . tangible. Even the work nobody saw or understood: the agent gets it. Everything is a piece to the puzzle. Even if you're a new or undiscovered artist, the world building can start here. LATER as people want to dig into you, the map is laid out. Here's the canon. Here's how it's contextualized with everything. THEN: when artist brain knowledge bases collide, a denser more crazily nuanced connection is possible. Like "OH dAMN both of us had a reaction to 1994 Cole brothers' SSEYO Koan but came to opposite conclusions? That's crazy let's debate it and make art about it!!" The risk is veering into Self-Validating, Self-Indulgent Fantasy Main-Character Syndrome (just look at that 2038 essay). But tbf some days, as an artist writhing at the edge of meaning & meaninglessness, I truly need it. But I mean.. anything to perpetuate an inside joke 😐 😐
