It’s so funny that every time it’s a post apocalyptic episode in the Twilight Zone, the character goes insane because they’re all alone. Most people now and days would be like “hell yeah.”

Out of Cuba now otw home and finally have access to the internet I’m having a hard time putting into words the thoughts I have on my experience there the past couple days. The level of cruelty that the oil blockade the US imposes on the day-to-day lives of everyday Cubans cannot be overstated. Everyday conveniences and essential services that we take for granted are completely non-existent. Entire systems, that were already dilapidated by decades of sanctions and restrictions from participating globally, start to break down exponentially when you remove fuel from the equation. The innovation required to accomplish the most basic tasks is astounding. People existing at night in complete darkness from the blackouts, just trying their best to lead normal lives in spite of the lack of power. Yet every Cuban person I met was extremely kind, patient, and welcoming. The resilience the people of the island have is extremely admirable and heartbreaking to witness. Cuba is a beautiful place with amazing people and insane potential. What the US has done to that island is shameful and nothing short of inhumane

The media isn’t covering it anymore, but the raids on our neighbors haven’t stopped. Minneapolis, LA and the whole country are still hurting. And now, the feds have dragged us into an illegal war. We said it then, and we’ll say it now: ICE, get out of LA. We keep us safe.

It’s crazy in the USA every politician, democrat and republican, is for sale. If you pay them enough money, they will do and say whatever you want.

I really liked this movie, as someone who found a passion for cooking while escaping reality, the scene where the chef remembers his love for cooking was the cherry on top for me

they were forced to carry this unimaginable pain for decades, whilst the man who inflicted that trauma on them was protected and rewarded with deification. it’s devastating. it’s nauseating. this global reality in which women and girls are treated as objects for men’s gratification. I am fucking sick of this culture of violence
