A coalition was formed, bringing together opposition heavyweights, with Peter Obi as its shining star, yet you still drove such a man away! You had a leader with the goodwill of the masses, a fierce cult following, and over six million votes delivered in the last election through raw people power alone, no governors, no senators, no House of Assembly members. Even after brazen, widespread rigging robbed him of victory, you chased such a man away because of your greed. Now, what exactly is your grand plan for the ADC without Peter Obi at the forefront? Let’s call it what it is: this ADC is a trap! Atiku and his allies bring nothing, no vision, no strategy, no political weight at all. Someone who could do anything with the support of 14 PDP governors in 2023, what will he do with a spineless ADC?

When Kwankwaso was busy standing in solidarity with Northern traders in Lagos and also negotiating in their stead when they were about to be displaced, Atiku was in Dubai living lavishly. All of a sudden, Kwankwaso is now the enemy of Arewa. Facts are very very stubborn oo.

I was building a tool that helped Nigerians identify exact locations where terrorists have killed citizens since Tinubu became president. I stopped building because what I discovered messed with me mentally. The death toll is underreported.

Lost $600 to a bad crypto trade in 2020. Fast-forward to 2026, I made back $60,000. Lost a job I thought was going to change my life in 2019. Fast-forward to 2023, I had my own company. Once missed a flight that painfully cost me a major deal. The deal I got later on was three times bigger. God is truly wonderful. None of this is my story. But I know these are stories of some people out there. God will give me that unexpected win soon! Claim it, too.

My surname once fetched me a good job when I was still single. I was jobless and went for an interview, five people applied for the same role. After a written exam, two of the applicants were sent home and the remaining three of us were told to wait for Oga at the reception. It was in the days of God abeg, when tough times last more than tough people 🤦‍♀️ The transport fare that took me to the venue was borrowed sef. Mo ti broke pa! As we sat at the reception, I was using my corner eyes to screen the remaining two people. I won’t even lie, they set pass me 😞 correct human head (in Jenifa’s voice) with designer shoes and well tailored gowns. Me wey be say na bend down select coat I wear and one pant trousers that has seen better days in the hands of my elder sister. Loro kan sha, mo koko fe fo but I sha packaged myself and did little Maths; 44 minus 4 equals to 40 😎 Mi o fo fun anybody. I sha dey my lane jeje dey beg my head of inside make he support my head of outside, make two of dem do collabo to get me the job or else, hungerr go wire both of them 😒 After about one hour, they started calling us in one after the other. The first lady went in, spent about twenty minutes then came out, I thought she would be going home but they told her to sit and even offered her lunch. She was smiling from ear to ear, I was sure she performed well. My mind do gbim but I reminded myself that me too no small, nothing wey dey come from sky wey ground no fit accommodate. When it sha reached my turn, I went inside and met the Oga in one fine office like that with cool breeze that made me almost run back immediately after I opened the door. The AC was just releasing cold air tukee💨 tukeeee💨 every minute. I used style to lift my right hand to my head and tapped it three times while saying prayers in my mind. That was the kind of working environment I needed to be at that time. Everything sengemenge 💯 Oga asked me questions related to the course I studied, I answered. He asked me questions about the role I applied for, I answered. He asked me questions about health and safety in the work place, I also answered them correctly then he paused for a while and flipped through my CV. It was obvious he had no further questions. Then he suddenly said “you are older than the other two applicants and have no work experience related to this role, why did you apply? “ I was stuttering and trying to form the right response when he suddenly said “you are from Ekiti” I said “yes, sir” Then he said “you must be related to Dr. Gbenga Esan, he is also from Ekiti” I quickly usee my mind to scan my immediate family followed by my extended family followed by my entire lineage, no Dr. Gbenga there but I found myself saying “oh, you know him? “ Then he smiled and said they were once members of a committee a long time ago and that he was a very brilliant guy. As I hear brilliant like this, I brought out my 32 😁 then balanced my flat yansh very well inside the chair and said “He is my uncle” “Oh, what a small world. You must be very brilliant too” he said. I nodded my head like a royal agama lizard that has chieftaincy title and said “you will have to find out, sir” Eweeehhh! 😯 Me no even know where the boldness came from but that was the end of the interview. He gave me the job right there and told me to resume the following Monday. I called Daddy mi immediately I stepped out of the building and asked him if he knew any Dr. Gbenga Esan but he said no. Well, so far he is from Ekiti and he’s very brilliant then he is my uncle and that’s final 😌 We are not even plenty like that in Ekiti so all of us must be brothers and sisters 🙈

Make up is good as an enhancer. Some people just need a little touch up and you can feel the sun residing in their smile. I do not get the obsession during celebrations like birthdays and weddings where you overdo the make up to the point we dont even recognize you. And then, you look less beautiful than you do on normal day. I don't get it. Always feels like the celebration is for the make up, not you.

Rev. John Aina, retired Music Director of the Apostolic Faith Church and a veteran of the gospel, offered the closing prayer at my wedding reception in 2008. Part of the prayer has stuck in my brain 18 years after for his masterful use of alliteration and the sheer poetry. He offered the prayers in Yoruba language. For its poetic cadence, this part of his prayer where he played on my name and Aanu's name has taken permanent residence in my head since then. Aanu and I constantly recall the prayer as a key highlight of our wedding ceremony. "Jesu Omo Olorun, a dupe fun awon omo wa yi. Aanu ati Tope. A dupe fun oore te se fun won. Adupe fun igbeyawo yi. Adupe fun aanu ta ri gba. A dupe nitori pe AANU taa ri gba T'OPE!" Yesterday morning, I received a message from Aanu that Baba John Aina passed on peacefully at the age of 87. May his memories be blessed.

Personally can’t stand when people are gassed by who can “PLAY” politics the best. You can’t understand that it’s literally the lives of the entire population at stake, it’s not a game, it’s a fucking job position. Like you can clearly see a certain candidate has no solid qualifications or desire to do the job well asides “ HE CAN PLAY POLITICS” and that’s what is getting some of you excited ? 🤦🏾‍♂️
