@BBCWalesNews A garage would be expected to look after clients cars and can insure against their loss, as it’s part of the service they provide, at a cost. A school can’t be held responsible for items that should be insured on a household policy. Everything isn’t always someone else’s fault.

@sicknote1968 @BBCWalesNews Unlikely to be recoverable via a small claims court. The school aren’t a storage firm, for instance, who have been paid to look after the items and whose negligence has caused the loss. It’s typical of the blame culture that someone must be found to be at fault somehow!

@BBCWalesNews If someone can afford to buy an IPhone and IPods they should have been able to afford to insure them aswell. If they do have insurance then claim on it, otherwise what's the point in having the policy to start with. Once thats done, take the school or LA to the small claims court
