@Micheal_Nagle @HennessyInch Is it actually a foul though? Or does it just not count as a play so doesn't reset the steps so you get blown for that?

5 rioters sentenced so far. Average sentence 2.4 years. Reminder, environmentalists were sentenced to 4.2 years on average for causing a public nuisance by disrupting traffic.

@cormacpro Get rid of the prelim quarters in hurling. 3 tier football championship with same format as hurling provincial round Robin with stand alone provincial championships. Shorten the leagues. March-July for intercounty, August-December for club, Jan and Feb for colleges.

@daireking Yeah it's true and I still like the split season but something needs to be done... I'd definitely start the provincials later in hurling and get rid of the preliminary quarters.

I honestly think serious questions need to be asked about the direction of hurling. An All Ireland semi-final should be a massive event, but people aren't switched on. There's a massive failure by the GAA (counties included) on this imo.

@Shamrocksabu Hurling has 5! Sure, there are still blowouts but nearly every hurling county starts the year with something to play for and even auld hackers like me can dream of Croke Park. The football league had 4 and we always go on about how great that is! Tailteann Cup is a good start...

@movementcoachkm Think it shows how narrow Philly MacMahon's perspective is as well that he assumes the Mayo Chairman is only looking out for the team. A trip to Dublin is long and expensive for Mayo fans, they'd rather go to Limerick. It's not just about the players.

Dublin footballer who benefitted from massive advantage of always playing at home, even for “neutral” games, in a shocking defence of Dublin maintaining a clear advantage over teams they play.🙄 I really like the Dublin of last 15 years, but this is and always has been an absolute nonsense. And it’s not sour grapes nor fear to challenge it independent.ie/sport/gaelic-g…

@movementcoachkm Kevin would there not be a risk with the 30s shot clock that teams would just drop back in to a low block off the kickout and try kill the time? I'd like to see a two point line- force defences to push out/encourage more shots. And limit solos/hops to 2 or 3 per possession.

Great stuff as always from Conan Change the rules like other sports do to enhance the game. It shouldn’t be just a one off group on the whim of one man’s mood or bias to get it done. The rules committee should be a permanent group with some experts around rules and skills, as well as experienced coaches. Keeping 3 men up in att 3rd for me is the best immediate game changer. Adds risk and creates space. I’d also add a 30 sec shot clock from kickout. This would dramatically change the game. But what will happen? They’ll make piecemeal changes that will be easily got around by coaches because the same people who whinge and moan about the modern game, will block any changes of note.

Armagh took over 3 minutes off the clock to get the last score. Donegal had 1 minute to go & we knew it was over. Good from those teams but how easy it is to keep the ball is the biggest crisis in Gaelic football. No other sport lets it happen.
