@TimMumaMKE IMO this is a sneaky HUGE week. Cubs are playing the Dodgers and have a ton of momentum and added a ton of good players. Brewers did essentially nothing and are in a big rut offensively and playing pretty poor baseball. Dan vibes are super negative after no deadline action.

@ByJackStern If this series does as badly as the one in Pitt before the break, it’s got a chance to get weird vibes-wise with the fans after Arnold didn’t essentially nothing.

After the Brewers traded for starter Dustin May this afternoon, Brandon Sproat had a handful of bad misses, was throwing 94 instead of 97 by his 60th pitch, and was pulled during an at-bat by Pat Murphy after back-to-back wild pitches in the fourth inning.

@Dom_Cotroneo He’s hearing boos because his team set him up to fail and didn’t do enough to compensate for the other teams moves. The vibes are not good with the fans and this has a chance to be a flash point series. Reminiscent of dealing Hader

Brandon Sproat just heard boo birds after back-to-back wild pitches. And Murph is making a mid-count pitching change. Not great.

If you are going to have the "guts" to throw a changeup on the 1st 2 pitches & fall behind 2-0 with the bases loaded... You CANNOT throw a fastball/sinker on 2-0 (unless you are Miz or similar). Has to be a breaking ball or another changeup. Of course he's looking heat. #Brewers

OK...well. I hope the #Brewers are getting May/June Dustin May...and that the home/road splits were just a random, small-sample issue for him with STL.

@MatthewMKE98 In a vacuum, okay the got better. But they didn't get good enough to win it all. There were an uncommonly high number of quality pitchers out there and they didn't get any of the guys who would give them a chance to be LA. I think the Cubs are MUCH better set up for a PS run.

My thoughts on the deadline (little long): I think the Milwaukee Brewers are a better team today than they are yesterday. The additions of Dustin May improve the rotation and it will allow 1 or 2 of the starters to shift to the bullpen, couple that with Jojo Romero and Anthony Senzatela and the rotation and bullpen looks really really really good Do I wish they added a bat? One thousand percent, but we will have to hope that Joey Ortiz stays hot and we have to hope Yelich or someone else figures it out and can be even average from the DH spot to go along with Contreras, Choruio, and Turang doing the heavy lifting. We will have to hope the young guys stay hot as well The Brewers are very much still a World Series contender, and their pitching is a huge reason for that. The Brewers offense is currently top 5 in the league and we’ll have to hope that carry’s over into October this year. I’d give this trade deadline a 7/10, it could be worse, it could be better. We move 🫡

@AaronNagler probably the most disappointing deadline day in a while. Normally cool with few trades, or moves on the edges, but everyone else got better and they have a legit shot.

There’s a chance today's Brewers acquisitions so far are rentals. May: $12M this year, $20M mutual option for '27 with $500K buyout. Romero: $4.26M, FA year's end. Senzatela: $12M in final season of a five-year, $50.5M deal, $14M club option for '27 with no buyout.

Josiah Ragsdale might have been a sell high, strike while the iron is hot kind of prospect. While he has 12 homers in Double-A, he also has a near-30% K rate at the level But Alexander Frias feels like one the Brewers might be kicking themselves at giving away in a few years
