Every fandom defends what they love. No anime is flawless, and no criticism automatically makes a series bad. It's okay to disagree, just keep the debate about the story, not the fans.

Naruto might have the most defensive fanbase in anime. Mention the endless flashbacks, the mountains of filler, or how half the cast became irrelevant, and suddenly you're "missing the point." If the writing is really that untouchable, why do fans always have to explain away its biggest flaws? Is it actually a masterpiece, or has nostalgia done all the heavy lifting?
