How in this day and age are they still building systems that do not take into account someone might have an apostrophe in their name. I'm looking at you @MarriottBonvoy your reservation system takes them, but not your mobile app, so can't access my reservation from my phone.

The end of the high school sports season is an emotional one for athletes and coaches alike. Yesterday I wrapped up my 25th year covering HS sports, including the last 5 at @DailyProgress. Honored for the opportunity to follow all the athletes and coaches during these journeys.

CHS Black Knight Wrestling has its first state place winner since 2014 and as far as we know, first time ever with 2. 132 lbs Fr. Walter Pilkey finishes 6th & 157 lbs Sr. Xavier Castaneda finishes 5th at the VHSL State 3 wrestling tournament in Salem VA.

11 Black Knight wrestlers traveled to MHS for sub-regionals to wrestle Fluvanna and Monticello. 1 win you go to regionals, 2 gets you a 1 seed. At the end of the night 10 CHS wrestlers qualified, with 6 as 1 seeds. Sunny Deveaux capped the night off with her 1st win of the season

@DixonLacrosse I think for many schools, shot clocks are the issue. I coach at a private school that uses NCAA rules and buying 2 shot clocks was a big expense.

Saw Santa yesterday. Told him all I want for Christmas is to have HS rules unified with NCAA. Pros can keep theirs. International would be nice too but one step at a time. He said he’d work on it but for some reason may be a big ask. But agreed we should do it for the kids.

Charlottesville High School is hosting the 12 team Rivanna Rumble wrestling tournament this Saturday starting at 9:00 am. CHS, Mountain View, Lancaster, Allegheny, Covenant, Fork Union, Dominion, Buffalo Gap, Colonial Heights, Amelia, Ft. Defiance & North Stafford.

CHS Wrestling hosted Monticello, Orange & Louisa for a Jefferson district quad. While we went 1-2, we showed the district we are a force to be reckoned with this season.

Congratulations Rob Combs, new Mustangs Head Lacrosse Coach! Rob, a 2015 Monticello graduate, has been the Mustangs JV Coach the last four seasons.
