The Grand National is unrecognizable from the race I loved as a boy. It was a proper steeplechase then. You needed a brilliant jumper to win it. It was gladiatorial. It must be safer, but the pendulum has swung so far that I feel I am watching a 4 mile hurdle race. Saddens me.

Disappointed but not surprised that tickets for the London v Mayo Championship match on April 11th, were all sold out, literally seconds after going on sale at 2pm, to those who successfully secured tickets, congratulations. To those who didn't, I express my sympathy.

@conorhcasey @LaobhaoiseNihE I was there too. I managed to get a ticket at the Oxford Arms in Camden Town, during Half Time of the URC (then Pro12) Grand Final, which Connacht won! So hopefully I can pay cash, or card, on the gate.

@damiengmullen @LaobhaoiseNihE I went one year ye played them. 2016 maybe? Had no ticket but went out on the tube with Mayo friends who had tickets and got in at the gate paying cash no bother. Some day out
