@skuffey @DaemonXGG Yesterday I pulled the ivern champ. Half way through the game I drew the legend and was really confused.
English

@DaemonXGG The funniest part about this is accidentally putting a ivern champ (lowkey a good pull) on top of the Ivern legends because they look so similar

I have this gut feeling that Ultimate Rarity Baron Nashor print run is actually bigger than any of the unique Legend Signatures.
I'm seeing WAY too many of them on socials and when I looked at online markets it kinda reinforces this idea.
I hope I'm wrong, because UR should def be printed in WAY WAY lower amounts than any of the unique Signatures.

@BleacherReport McDavid played in 4 Oilers games with a broken ankle. And this guy is out Game 7 with knee stiffness. lol.

@CozzzyQ They should tomorrow. I'm trying to find out the time to see if it'll be a midnight drop, morning, noon, etc

@rebekahquests I also think this has more impact depending on location. In SoCal, there’s at least 5-8 shops each day that spreads out the competition.
I would assume locations that have 1-2 per day feel it more than others.

@damoonerman an important clarification: skill vs the type of event
and also, I think skill is part of it. A less skilled player should imo find more success at a lower level comp event to create the feel good experience to then entice them into higher levels of play
English

@rebekahquests I would consider weeklies to be a “starter” event. They are run like tournaments and have the lower level comp feel.
Once prizing gets involved, it becomes a higher tier event. Sometimes the cost is even 3-5x more.

@LukevVonderland I know a few pokemon and OP people that are ripping trying to get the Iconic. Single prices will probably go down at the start due to them dumping all the other cards because they dont play
English

I don't know who needs to hear this, but 99.9% of #Lorcana presale prices are 95%+ more than the card will be a week or two after release.

@jamesrhymertcg @BradenMTG Remember. Singing is paying less than 2

@BradenMTG Interesting! Give me the pitch on this Buzz. I keep looking at it wondering if we’re missing something, and then I see it on your list.

@coflorcana @iBentleyBoyd Riftbound knows when a player won a “set champs” to give a round 1 bye for DLC. I’m pretty sure there would be a way to track it.
English

@iBentleyBoyd I don’t know how they implement it but yes, I mat per player would definitely be a fix.

Now that set champs season is over, I think it’s time for a discussion.
We had an incident in our local community where casual players showed up to a set champs, and as soon as they saw the players with the jerseys walk in to compete, they all left.
On a certain level I get it. Who wants to pay money to be fodder for players who practice more and take the game more seriously?
And for the record, I’m not saying the jerseys did anything wrong here.
But there is this imbalance in Lorcana organized play.
On the one hand, RB markets this as a casual friendly game.
So casual players pick up the game thinking that this is the one for them.
They go to local leagues, planning on having fun.
Then it’s week after week of being beat by the jerseys. Which eventually leads them to stop playing all together (who else has seen their local scenes drying up?), or if they’re lucky, to find a store that caters to casual players.
Set champs then creates a dynamic where those casual players can’t escape the jerseys. It’s the one time that there is actually something worth playing for locally.
I don’t know how your set champs went but attendance at ours is definitely less than they used to be.
So we are in this cycle where casual players aren’t having fun and not coming out anymore, but the prize support isn’t compelling enough to attract jersey players from other games, which leads to shrinking local scenes.
And I know that the game is doing just fine with collectors. The game is making money off of their wallets. It’s the health of the local organized play scene that I want to chat about.
But honestly, I don’t know how to fix it (or maybe this is just me and it doesn’t need fixing at all)

@billdcon @eldecourcy @CircaLasVegas Holy shit I want to watch what this new game is about. Show the game.

English

@PeakHobby lol 96% of all these scalpers are going to go bust. They are averaging 4 legendaries per box. And each legendary is averaging $10-$15 based on last set. This sets legendaries aren’t anything game breaking either. MSRP on Lorcana is way too high for how shitty the stock is.
