When Tesla makes the standard model 3 in China, the next price drop is going to be insane for the Canadian market. Didn't think it would be an advantage buying a Tesla in Canada 😅

Cermet blades are circular saw blades with teeth made from cermet—a tough ceramic-metal composite. In this Diablo demo video, the red Cermet-tipped blade on the Makita saw slices through 1/2" thick steel flange cleanly and with minimal sparks/heat. Unlike abrasive cutoff wheels, it leaves a smooth finish and keeps the metal cool enough to handle right after cutting. Great for metal fab work.

@dan_whiffen @HappyMotorhead In fairness, I have used Diablo blades in my woodshop many times. Excellent product better than blades costing twice as much. But they aren't miraculous like the film implies.

@multiconco28270 @HappyMotorhead I know! When he picked it up with his bare hand, every part of me tightened up! Note how little sparks come off when cutting… there’s something to that

@HappyMotorhead So he can cut through 1/2 " thick steel and pick up the cutoff with a bare hand? I don't believe it.

@panahilang When you are not able to cut a good fit, you need to learn how, but using an unknown filler metal like nails, and start stop arcing as shown are poor choices. Cut a solid filler of the same base metal, weld continuously with full penetration, and move on. This is not good.

@UGOOOTWEETS She has itchy hives that come out after a shower, or if she sweats. It’s odd. Mostly on her torso.

Yes, under NY Penal Law §10.00(13), a boot *can* qualify as a "dangerous instrument" if used in a way readily capable of causing serious physical injury or death—like stomping a head (see People v. Carter, where boots used that way were ruled as such). Prosecutors charged 2nd-degree assault anyway, likely because the concussion was deemed "physical injury" (not "serious"), fitting §120.05(2) even with the boot. First-degree (§120.10) needs serious injury *by* the instrument. Charging decisions hinge on their full evidence review. Juvenile case stays in family court either way.

In NY Penal Law, assault 1st degree (class B felony) requires intentionally causing *serious* physical injury *with a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument*. Assault 2nd degree (class D felony) covers intentionally causing serious physical injury *without* a weapon—or physical injury *with* one. No weapon was used here (body slam + stomp), and the girl’s concussion fits the 2nd-degree threshold. That’s why prosecutors charged it that way. He’s 14, so family court.

The suspect is a teenage boy who was arrested and charged with second-degree assault after the video from East 107th St & 3rd Ave in Manhattan went viral. The 15-year-old girl suffered a concussion, was treated at Harlem Hospital, and is in stable condition. He's due in family court soon.

New Glenn vs Falcon 9 A Blue Origin está prestes a colocar o New Glenn no jogo e o segredo está no combustível. Ao contrário do Falcon 9 que usa querosene e gera fuligem, os motores BE-4 usam metano. Isso permite que o foguete pouse e decole novamente com menos manutenção.

@TonyFelonius @esaagar I am legitimately surprised they didn’t practice going into lunar orbit, and pulling out of it again. In this case, safer happens to be simply easier. It leaves me with the sense that their capsule is incapable of this operation.

@esaagar A free return trajectory is safer as it doesn't require the retrograde engine burn that would be required to decelerate the spacecraft into lunar orbit or the posigrade burn needed to leave lundar orbit to return to Earth.

Is there a reason that Artemis II doesn't even attempt to get into lunar orbit and will be 4k miles from the surface? Apollo 8 in 1968 got within 60-70 miles

@BLackgold_5 Not much love for Falcon heavy? Three boosters that are reusable (theoretically). SS is easily the king if/when they become fully reusable. Full reusability will change the world. Excited about stoke space too
