@BenRitholtzNBA BOS is the “safer” matchup. Tatum is still not quite back to his full power. And D White can’t make a shot. PHL speed in the backcourt poses a lot of problems for our lack ofPOA D. And Embiid is crazy enough to fall on someone’s ankle

Lovely luxury to sit back and enjoy the weekend. Looking ahead: We know how BOS/NY will look schematically. Tatum on KAT/5 roaming off Hart. PHI different proposition. Not sure they have the wing to put on KAT. Embiid on KAT opens up the P&P. NYK has solutions either way.

@KarlTownsfan Half of Towns’ assists were because Brunson set off-ball screens and hawks were locked in on JB and didn’t want to switch

If Brunson is a real captain he would accept a lesser role in the offense this series and let Kat and og do there thing.

@iHateShaun I agree…Will definitely adjust. I imagine they’ll help hard off Hart or Clarkson and see if they can make perimeter shots

KNICKS MADE A CONSCIOUS EFFORT TO GET KAT THE BALL AND EVEN THOUGH HE STILL STRUGGLES TO GET POSITION IN THE PAINT, GETTING HIM THE ROCK AND LETTING HIM MAKE PLAYS FROM WHEREVER HE GETS IT IS A POTENTIAL UNLOCK FOR THE OFFENSE SOMETHING OTHER THAN ISO-JB DRAYMOND BUT A THREAT TO SHOOT KUDOS TO MIKE BROWN ON THAT ADJUSTMENT STILL NOT SOLD, BUT WE’LL SEE

@shwinnypooh OG has a serious claim to the best player. He’s been everywhere on D and made an effort to rebound more. Without him we are forced to play tiny guard heavy lineups.

KAT dominated this game and has been the best player in the series by a mile. OG and Hart's defensive intensity from the start set the tone. A little less Clarkson and a bit more Deuce would be nice, but much better rotations tonight and use of the bench from Mike Brown tonight

Re: a potential Knicks lineup change... Was torn. Decided to look at a year’s worth of reporting & analysis, not just 1 series. Group is better with McBride, needs Bridges’ defense late. Why are those mutually exclusive? Couldn’t Bridges’ ballhandling help second unit a ton?

@Derek09329884 He averaged 17 shots under thibs. And never said he can’t get a few more shots. But it’s much easier to get shots for Tatum compared to towns. Don’t know how that’s debatable. Not to mention Tatum and brown have gotten their share of “this combo isn’t working” over the yrs

Watching Celtics use their two best players Tatum and Brown EQUALLY. Knicks system under Mike Brown, AllNBA Allstar center Towns gets a measley 12 shots while Brunson takes more than double that amount of shots (like 25 or 26 shots). Losing formula. Terrible system #Knicks

@EddiePresti_ Was more about the chance to turn a useless contract slot (Bojan) into a 2 way wing to compete w Boston without giving up any key players

When you build a team to make players happy, you lose sight of the ultimate goal of winning a championship. Giving up 5 1sts for a role player will go down as the move that solidified the Knicks ceiling which was an ECF last year under a coach who didn’t make the players happy. #knicks #nba

@BarryOnHere CBA plays a large role now too. Contracts are shorter. Players don’t stay on cheap deals very long before they can re-up to market value. Aprons are punishing.. tough to retain multiple high level players

My theory on why no NBA team has won multiple rings since 2019 is simple: The 3 point shot is extremely volatile and creates a lot more randomness to the outcome of games. It's the ultimate equalizer for lesser talented teams. Role players matter more than ever before, the days of 1 superstar "carrying" teams to rings is done. OKC has a superstar, 2 other all-stars, and at least 5-6 quality rotational players. Which is why they're probably gonna be the 1st team since the KD Warriors to stack multiple rings. Even then, they got pushed to 7 twice last year. It's a much different sport than the one you watched as a kid.

@NBA__Courtside Towns been in the league for a decade. When he’s been the first option his teams haven’t gone anywhere. Now we want to make it seem like he’s the superstar being held down by some conspiracy 😂

Paul Pierce says Karl-Anthony Towns needs to be the Knicks best player if they want to win: “And I said this and this is not a knock on Jalen Brunson, he can’t be your best player on a championship team. If we’re saying the Knicks, like he can be a great player and close and be that role, but like for us, KG was our best player. I was the closer and I understood that like throughout the course of the game we got to go to KG, you know, that’s how I feel like this should look.” (Via @NFGShow)

@DJAceNBA I think the FO was hoping mikal would add some of that but clearly he’s not that. Trading away RJ and Randle, while made sense overall, also dropped our shot creation ability. Now we are asset poor and capped out so makes pivoting very tough

Hawks took away the pass to Brunson, so it should've allowed Hart to inbound and cut right to the hoop. KAT came over too far to the sideline, but Hart still had a driving lane that he didn't take. Once Brunson got stuck on the right side, great double by Kuminga
