@jdlyonsKY @LPVT802 Oh, I'm sorry I didn't realize popularity won arguments if they are pages and celebrities. My bad. These dicks are delicious.

@LPUSAWatch Do you have a citation for government forcing this activity? Or is that a straw man you use to deflect?

@NH_Ancap @LPTN1776 @LP_Allies @LPNational @NHLP Is NHLP following the LP National bylaws for affiliation is the better question. If they are not, it takes a 3/4 vote to revoke their status. Voluntary association. If NH doesn't want to agree to not endorse non-Libertarian candidates, they don't have to be an affiliate of LP.

The @LP_Allies intend to change the language of the NAP, disaffiliate states that aren’t on board with being globalist leftists (fascism). Their leadership stole and leaked @LPNational ’s membership data. We have 100% credible evidence they have international NGO backing. They won’t even do work at the local level, bash states that do, and instead suddenly want to network internationally? 🤔 At national convention this year, Stop fascism, Save the NAP. Don’t let this party fall to communists.

Since I started retweeting all the funny memes I see I've lost about 400 followers, but I don't care because the followers who remain are the people I wanted anyway. If every tweet has to be an original banger then fuck you. Go away

@ronnui_ The even/odd auxiliary route loop/spur really only applies to interstates, not US highways. I'm not opposed to converting to interstate designation as long as it makes sense with the number rules for interstates (I'm looking at you I-99) and isn't named after a living politician.

Aside from being stupid for the normal reasons, this is also dumb according to our highway numbering rules. The US highway numbering system tells you that 287 is an auxiliary highway of 87, with the even first digit saying it connects more than once.
Senator John Cornyn@JohnCornyn

I am proud to introduce legislation to rename US Highway 287 as Interstate 47 in honor of our 47th President @realDonaldTrump. My bill will upgrade one of our nation’s longest highways to a future interstate and save more than $5 BILLION in travel costs, all while honoring the most effective and influential president of our lifetime. Texas is Trump Country & this bill cements @POTUS’ legacy by designating nearly 1,800 miles of open road to forever be known as the Trump Interstate 🇺🇸

@vkargatis @captgouda24 They aren't using residential streets and school zones to profile using traffic stops. They are using urban collectors and highways.

@danbert8 @captgouda24 I'm hardly denying the existence of speed traps! Just noting that speed limits are not set merely to enable "probable cause" police stops. E.g. municipalities setting 25mph neighborhood or 15-20mph school area limits in certain hours are primarily selected for safety reasons.

Many people misunderstand the point of traffic stops. They are not to regulate speeding. They exist to drag a net through the people likely to have warrants. Speed cameras are missing the point — speed limits are set to give probable cause, not describe appropriate travel speed.

@bubbling_creek One last point, there is a long history of smaller locales setting way too low limits and have specifically targeted non-local plates for enforcement. This allows the locals to go a reasonable speed while collecting revenue from non voters.

I'm not trying to argue existing speed limits are good. > Safety is an excuse we have for many laws, and a lot of them are counterproductive to achieve safety. Whether or not this applies to speed limits specifically, I agree with this in general. The part I disagree with is this: > Yes, but the safety concerns are being raised by uninformed voters, not engineers or road designers. I don't think this is true, just descriptively. I think a lot of engineers and road designers support current speed limits, or want them to be lower. I'm not claiming they are correct to do that. Experts can be, and are often, wrong. But when I look at how speed limits are set, it sure looks like engineers and road designers are involved in setting them.

@bubbling_creek And to the OP's comment, most speeding enforcement is done on controlled access highways, not on urban streets. It's easy picking for the police when the average driver is ignoring an artificially low limit. Nevermind that the police themselves ignore stupid low limits too.
