@rocking_bob For years I've had a nagging feeling I remember him from something I couldn't place - not Tinker Tailor, not the Valeyard etc - and have just now worked out it was seeing him as Captain Von Trapp opposite Petula Clark in 1981.

@richardmarcj I used to do a week on cartoons when I taught BPG 20 years ago. Assuming I captioned this correctly, they’re all from the same David Low cartoon from the Evening Standard. October 1947.

I love the sketches of Clement Attlee, Herbert Morrison, and Ernest Bevin on the cover of this 1948 book about these Labour titans.
