@bradgander_ Based on a single observational study with 250 patients treated…and how does speed to cessation of seizure and adverse events compare to infusion (which is only over 5 minutes)? Logistic argument for bolus if no significant difference in comparison but not enough to support that

@EMDocJB @Junaid_APP @GenerallyUnwell @laurathesnowman Ha. Someone had to ask 🙃 Was discussed at length. Given the ILCOR statement doesn’t favour DSD over vector change & vice versa and the challenge with manufacturers not supporting, we opted not to for now

@RingmerAFC Our teams from @SECAmbulance & @SECAmb_CCP attended. There is no doubt that bystanders who knew & were willing to start CPR, and the availability of a public access defibrillator saved Nelson’s life. Well done to all involved & to the club. Wishing Nelson a speedy recovery.

We are glad to hear that Nelson is in a stable condition and on the road to recovery. By sharing this we hope that other clubs consider getting a defibrillator installed if they don’t have one already because we can vouch for it first hand that they save lives. (3/3)

Today we encountered one of the most serious incidents we have experienced at the football club. During the vets fixture one of the opposition players collapsed, stopped breathing and did not have a pulse. Our club defibrillator was used to get his heart going again. (1/3)

Accepting that some of it is now outdated (as would any 20yo text) as a core manual and foundation of practice it was good & I would challenge that we are doing it any better 20 years later…
