If you've never read the Jurassic books, the death scenes contain few flourishes. There's a sense of the food chain being suddenly flipped and of mankind being reduced to helpless, shrieking terror. A supersized animal attack. It's all very visceral.

It might also be the only scene in the films that captures the specific (and often uncinematic) terror of the dinosaur attacks in the novels? The only other one that comes to mind for me is poor Udesky from III
