Because Matatu operators are the ones who have called off the strike, Kenyans MUST REFUSE to pay hiked fares. Since they are the ones in dialogue with the government, they should not pass on the cost of their dialogue to innocent, underpaid and overtaxed Kenyans!

Don't explain to anyone. When the prices rose by almost 70 bob did we create 33 new counties?????
Tim Kipchumba@TimKipchumba

To subsidize fuel by Kes 50, we need to abolish 33 counties. I explain below. I agree Parliament must be recalled from recess. They’ll have to do some trade offs and some math. Some data to start us off: - Kenya annual consumption : consumes roughly 6–7 billion litres of petroleum products annually (petrol + diesel + kerosene combined). - Monthly this is 500–600 million litres Now let’s see what people are asking for in subsidy. If government subsidized fuel by KSh 50 per litre, the monthly cost would be approximately 50* 500m or 50*600m This is KSh 25–30 billion per month [KSh 300–360 billion per year] What does this mean? - 72% -86% of county Counties (Equitable Share) - 51% of Kenya’s entire education budget. - 2–2.6 times the entire national health budget - CDF will have been dropped 5X over -21X statehouse budget -13X judiciary budget -7.2X parliament budget When you hear people mention KSh 50 fuel subsidy as a small measure - it is not a “small relief measure.” We are in a difficult moment. And we must remember this in our pursuit for political relevance. I wish parliament the best. BUT they should definately be recalled from recess. For once you miss Baba @RailaOdinga. He would know that on a time like this, Jenya is facing a much bigger problem than anything ever in its history. - @TimKipchumba

@SoulesSwordsman @lukestanley03 There is no need for imaginations. The epl is the richest football league. There is nothing preventing other clubs from spending how they want. Pep came and made the epl a farmers league. It was his garden.

They said he’d struggle in English football. He won the league with 100 points. They said he couldn’t win it back to back. He won the Domestic Quadruple. They said he’d never win the European Cup, he’d never win 3 leagues in a row and he’d definitely never win the Treble. He did all three in one season. He then did the unthinkable and won 4 leagues in a row. The greatest manager of all time.

🚨 Michael Carrick will stay at Manchester United as permanent manager, confirmed. Direction clear for weeks, plan also approved by Sir Jim Ratfliffe and new deal set to be signed soon. New deal for 2 years plus option to extend or directly 3 years, but no doubts: Carrick says yes and will sign the contract.

FORMER MP ARRESTED IN SH6.4 MILLION LAND FRAUD SCANDAL Detectives from the DCI Headquarters Land Fraud Investigation Unit (LFIU) have apprehended Francis Njakwe Githiari, a former Member of Parliament representing Mathioya, for allegedly defrauding an unsuspecting couple of Sh6.4 million in a land fraud scheme. The couple entered into an agreement with Githiari for the purchase of a parcel of land in Ngong, which was to be developed into a double-storey house. In this arrangement, Githiari, who also identified himself as a contractor, was responsible for both selling the land and constructing the residence. The total cost for the land and construction was set at Sh40 million, payable in instalments. The couple promptly deposited Sh6.4 million into Githiari's account as part of the payment. However, during routine visits to the construction site, the couple overheard disturbing news: claims of ownership issues regarding the land had emerged, with other parties reportedly filing a case to assert their ownership. This revelation raised serious red flags, prompting the couple to halt any further payments. A thorough investigation ensued, during which detectives unearthed compelling evidence that Githiari had indeed fraudulently obtained the funds. Subsequently, a duplicate police case file was forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP). Upon review, the ODPP agreed with the investigating officer’s recommendation to charge Githiari with the offence of obtaining money by false pretences, contrary to Section 313 of the Penal Code. Today, justice took its course as Githiari was arrested at his residence in Karen. He is currently undergoing processing and is expected to be arraigned before the Milimani Law Courts tomorrow, May 15, 2026. Report Land Fraud and other Crimes Anonymously: #FichuaKwaDCI. Call 0800 722 203 (Toll-free) or WhatsApp at 0709 570 000 to report. Usiogope!

So no secret I was batting in Iran's corner during the recent war, even opined they would win that war against overwhelming odds but some of the things that they've managed to do, I couldn't even think possible in my most optimistic assessment.

@dans_jesse I concur with you. It's 2026 and brain dead united fans are still stuck in 2004. City has been toying with our recor(treble, domestic treble, 4 consecutive PL titles) like it's no one's business yet united fans think Arsenal winning one PL trophy in 22 yrs is a just as bad.

@sammienjiru @NPSOfficial_KE @Jasiri_D30 That makes sense. However I would argue representing for an occasion and occupying even temporarily are two immensely different things. Otherwise, would a DP representing the president inspect a guard of honour mounted by the military?

NPS HOLDS SUB-COUNTY COMMANDERS' CONFERENCE AT THE NATIONAL POLICE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY, NGONG The National Police Service (NPS), supported by the International Justice Mission (IJM), today convened a high-level Sub-County Commanders' Consultative Dialogue at the National Police Leadership Academy (NPLA) in Ngong. The forum represents a renewed effort to strengthen command accountability, professional leadership, innovation, and excellence in service delivery across the Service. Held under the theme "Strengthening Capacity and Enhancing Operational Effectiveness at the Sub-County Level," the consultative forum focused on building an accountable, resilient, and citizen-centred police service. Such a Service must be capable of responding effectively to evolving security demands while maintaining professionalism and public trust, and ensuring that all operations are conducted strictly within the confines of the law. Representing the Inspector General, Mr. Douglas Kanja, the Deputy Inspector General of the Kenya Police Service, Mr. Eliud Lagat, noted that transformational leadership and innovation are no longer optional in modern policing. He stated that all commanders must embrace change, continuously improve their skills, adapt to emerging forms of crime through innovation, and adopt community policing and citizen participation in enhancing security. The DIG further urged commanders to support the officers under their command by promoting positive mindsets, mentorship, and professional growth. He encouraged them to take a keen interest in the well-being of their officers and to foster stronger collaboration not only within the Service but also with other agencies and stakeholders. The Deputy Inspector General of the Administration Police Service, Mr. Gilbert Masengeli, noted that the effectiveness of the entire Service is often measured by the quality of work and service delivered by officers who interact directly with members of the public. He also urged commanders to embrace leadership grounded in understanding, harnessing the strengths of their officers while maintaining the human connection essential to effective and transformative policing. The Commandant of the National Police Leadership Academy, Mr. Mathiu Kainga, AIG, expressed appreciation to the leadership of the National Police Service for the unwavering support accorded to the institution in advancing officer training, leadership development, and institutional transformation. Speaking during the conference, the Country Director of IJM, Mr. Vincent Chahale, reaffirmed the organisation's continued commitment to supporting the National Police Service. He noted that a strong, accountable, and professional police service is beneficial to society as a whole. Present at the conference were the NPS Director of Training, Mr. Hassan Aljir, AIG; senior police commanders; staff of the NPLA; and other officials from IJM.
