Why turn every nice moment into a callout of UTB? Sometimes the best PR is the effortless organic stuff people share on their own. Not everything needs an official reaction. Let good moments about Uganda breathe.
Demo Riley@DemoRileyUg

.@TourismBoardUg should move fast on @Diplo’s visit and fully capitalize on the moment. Let’s give him a world-class Ugandan tourism experience. We kick things off tonight at @MezoNoirUG pull up.

A govt full of thieves who steal Ugandan taxpayers money and send most of it aboard sat and decided to bring a bill that seeks to control how much money hardworking Ugandans abroad can send back home. What a bunch of useless swamp rats.

@DavidLumansi @UPL Very true. Add Patrick Ntege of FUFA, and the likes of John Oyet and Sam Sempijja. Good times.

God has a sense of humour. He went and recreated my left foot from the 80s and 90s and placed it on this Nigerian-Algerian-English-Frenchman's body some 30 years later. Even the names rhyme - Mark Ssali, Michael Olise. Why didn't He just heal my 'dead' knee instead? Sleek, silky!

Ugarte didn’t have a good game yesterday. No sugar-coating that. But sitting there in the stands only crystallised what I already thought. The hostility towards Ugarte in the stadium is rife, from names being read out to jeers and silence and few claps, to shouting, swearing, moaning and groaning and full on abuse when he gets the ball. Very much like the social media wrath but all encompassing, loud, from all directions and inescapable. It takes real resilience to be unaffected by that and it must affect his game. From hesitating to make the best pass, to playing safe balls and nervous touches. Do we need a midfield transformation in the Summer? Yes. But he’s still a player wearing our shirt, trying his best and being a professional in the midst of a lot of hate. He’s still a just turned 25 year old in his second premier league season. I just wish we’d be better humans to our players, who are also human. And maybe, just maybe, we’d see better performance levels!

Mukulu @assempebwa, I believe your people know that this section of Karuma Bridge is banged up. And keeps getting hit coz of the road design. What I don’t understand is why it’s not fixed with concrete barriers. It’s obvious a car WILL plunge into the Nile, soon!

I genuinely think if we’d sacked Amorim after Grimsby that we’d be in a title race right now. This season was probably the best chance we’re going to get for a while…

This is incredibly dehumanizing. Helping someone should never come at the cost of their dignity, privacy or agency because what do you mean he doesn't have to like it at all. You people are so weird and entitled.
Ms. Nakaayi@Evelyn_Nakaayi

Also, there should be a visit to the patient and a doctor to explain his condition to us for clarity. It will help him get close to people speeding up the fundraise. He doesn’t have to like it after-all, all this requires him to be vulnerable, transparent and abiding. #SaveAbu

I have followed Abdul’s repeated calls for help on Twitter, both direct and indirect, and his situation has weighed heavily on me. In my own small way, I have been supporting him privately. However, I believe this moment calls for more than individual, quiet efforts. It calls for a coordinated and collective response. Ugandans on Twitter have consistently demonstrated the power of community, showing up in moments of need with generosity and solidarity. I believe we are capable of doing the same, and even more, in this case. I do not think we should wait until it is too late and then gather to express condolences, when we have the opportunity now to make a meaningful, life-saving difference. @abdussekalala is in urgent need of a liver transplant. This is a critical situation, and one that I believe we can collectively respond to with intention and compassion. I am therefore proposing the establishment of a structured fundraising campaign to support his treatment. At the same time, it is important to acknowledge that public fundraising requires trust and accountability. To uphold the integrity of this effort and give confidence to all those willing to contribute, I propose that the funds be managed by a credible, mutually agreed-upon third party or a small accountability team, rather than the patient himself. This approach not only ensures transparency, but also relieves Abdul of additional pressure during an already difficult time. I respectfully call upon everyone to contribute in whatever way they can and to help amplify this effort. A life is at stake, and together, we have the ability to make a difference. @AAgather @KwikirizaNova @GabrielBuule @SpireJim

Emilian Kayima was appointed as the Uganda Police Force spokesperson in November 2017. He was handpicked by then-IGP Gen. Kale Kayihura to replace AIGP Asan Kasingye, who had requested to relinquish the role to focus on his duties as the Chief Political Commissar. Kayima’s tenure was marked by a period of significant transition within the force, including the leadership shift from Kayihura to Okoth Ochola in early 2018. Known for his articulate and calm demeanor, Kayima served as the primary voice of the police until January 2019. He was replaced by SCP Fred Enanga, who returned for his second stint in the role as part of a wider restructuring aimed at improving the force's public image.

Recently, I received a call from our landlord at the metal and aluminium workshop. At first, he sounded like usual.. he needed money. No problem I said. Although we are not in arrears, we can arrange a few months ahead. He paused a bit. And then dropped the bombshell. “I am increasing the rent,” he said and mentioned a figure. It was more than 3 times what we pay. As I was still processing it, he dropped another missile. “I want it all in a lump sum for 5 years,” he said. Five years? I asked. Yes five years and he added. “Otherwise I have my…..” he mentioned a certain tribe. I told him, go ahead and give them the damn place. The five year rent he wanted upfront could buy a sizable plot in Buwaate, where the workshop was located. We had leased an empty plot and put there all the temporary structures, electricity, toilets etc. Anyway, relentlessly, we embarked on finding financing at good rates to build our own workshop and we did. On 1 April 2026, we moved the workshop to Gayaaza-Ziroobwe Road, in our own premises. No more landlord shenanigans…. But to ensure I don’t post about a financier if they call and we don’t have money to pay them back…. Continue giving us jobs…. Any aluminium, metal engineering work… That way I won’t have to return to the village in Masaka…. mwebale bambi.
