@jarvis_best Dreamy and philosophical. Really enjoyed it and was impressed a very old man could write so well. But I would consider it a lesser CM novel when compared to Suttree and Blood Meridian. I haven't reread it, however, and my opinion could change.

Today I welcomed Governor Stein to New Hanover County. We toured the Sweeney Water Treatment Plant, where our large-scale Granular Activated Carbon filters completely remove PFAS from our drinking water. We then announced 36 million dollars in grants to expand our reach, providing even more people with access to the best quality water available. I will continue to be a champion for clean and safe water. And I will continue working with all our leaders to ensure the best outcomes for New Hanover County.

NC House Speaker @DestinHall set a new off-year fundraising record for a sitting speaker in 2025:
🔴 $1.2 million in contributions.
🔴 Over 6,300 contributions.
House Republican Caucus set records too in 2025:
🔴 $2.2 million in contributions.
🔴 Over 2.5X what the HRC raised in 2023.
🔴 HRC reported $1.7 million in COH heading into the 2026 elections, calling it “the strongest cash position in the history of the Caucus.”

Last night I rushed to get the boys to bed before the Super Bowl. Failed. Got frustrated. Felt entitled to my quiet time and the game.
Turned it on… watched about two minutes… realized I don’t care about this at all.
Turned it off. Got in bed with my wife. Read a book. Slept great.
This morning: gym, clear head, ready for the week.
We have agency. You don’t have to participate in every loud, manufactured conversation competing for your attention driven by people who don’t care about you. You can just turn it off.

I spent the whole day showing @ncspeakerhall all the things that make New Hanover County special and introducing him to hundreds of our citizens. As the leader of the NC House of Representatives, thank you for dedicating today to our community, Speaker Hall!
I'm running for NC House because our citizens need someone who isn't afraid to demand the best and has the abilities and relationships to actually make it happen. Less talk. Less politics. More DOING AND RESULTS.

Local government’s should get out of the business of being resolution factories and instead be laser focused on operating well functioning, efficient governments with low tax impact on their citizens.

Local government is responsible for providing core services to its citizens. It shouldn't be bringing in multi-billion-dollar, far-left left organizations to write policies for citizens who simply want clean water, good educational opportunities, and affordable lives. But that's what we did tonight in New Hanover County. I VOTED NO.

The people of New Hanover County deserve at least one elected official who will vote against the massive pressure and influence campaign of multi-billion-dollar, far-left political organizations like the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. I don't care how much money these groups have, I will not stop fighting against their divisive, anti-American agenda. More on this soon.
