video editors stink… 🤮 and i’m going to fix it editors spend AGES… - cutting clips - moving key frames - color grading but it shouldn’t have to be this way… i’ll build the cursor of video editors … and all you have to do is watch 👀 waitlist👇

i have a strong inkling that major companies are accelerating with ai generated features but at the cost of accumulating a TERMENDOUS amount of technical debt ... and the only ones that are slowing it down are the OG devs that are filtering out the "bad" code from getting to prod anyone think the same? or is ai code top tier now...

codex has been my go-to application for ai assisted coding for the past year I've been able to accelerate my learning and build super fast... but at the end of the day, my eng intuition is what is still carrying me to build properly the balance of speed vs quality

@Dimillian thats a crazy idea - sprint planning for agents and they just tell you -> "no update" lol

you shouldn’t add ai until you have a base level system that being said… design your system with the low primitives to accommodate for ai to streamline

Has anyone documented all the code slop patterns yet? I want to lint for them and banish them to hades.

24 hours ago, I posted this article about @FactoryAI's take on React's useEffect which has surpassed 1.7M views and is still growing. This caught the attention of numerous execs, startup founders, and even the React core team. It has sparked a conversation about a paradigm shift in how we design software for the agentic era. Traditionally, software frameworks were designed for humans who spent time mastering fundamentals before writing their first line of code. Today, that is no longer the case. At Factory, all of our "backend engineers" ship frontend code. Any engineer should be able to prompt agents to tweak features "out of the box" with built-in guardrails. We learned the hard way that when agents write nearly all the code, useEffect often becomes the culprit behind systemic frontend bugs. We only encountered these issues because we are constantly pushing the boundaries of agentic software development. Fixing the process is more important than fixing the (direct) problem. On a note regarding marketing strategy: traditional, polished product announcements from PR teams don't work anymore. Sharing raw, authentic, "on the ground" stories about the interesting problems teams are solving is far more engaging.

ai models 1v1 pokemon battles (pokebench) some new updates: - added poke stats - added moves with typing and pp - more support for openai models - added some move effects, dmg effects - added +/- stat above sprites + status super fun seeing this come together ideally we can get models to simulate a bunch of battles to see which one is the best POKEMON MASTER
Danh@danhdox

PokeBench update - added sprite animation when switching pokemon - added slight damage jiggle - status conditions PSN - better thinking traces in chat having fun just seeing the models duke it out haha

senior eng is the new junior eng... its never been easier to jump into tech but with the temptation of letting ai do everything... we forget that ai is the tool to learn, upskill and understand DEEPER so how do we go from student to entry lvl dev to sen. dev and beyond? its the same as its always been ... time under pressure ... experience ... facing challenging problems ... sitting there and giving it a crack first (with your own brain lol) not saying you shouldn't use ai btw use ai to be hella productive you are the conductor of ai not the other way around

I'm looking to hire somebody who can help me curate a couple of newsletters I run. This would be ideal as a side-project for somebody junior with a good eye for quality who understands the startup space well. Need to be good with Claude. ~ 8 hours per month ~ $200/month DM me

ai models are measured based on reasoning, coding & knowledge... but what if they were benchmarked against which is the best POKEMON MASTER so i built a quick fun project called PokeBench built with poke sim, some poke sprites, and codex @OpenAIDevs next add-ons are the metrics and outcomes :)
