@danibithe The comics didn't have a succinct plot for me. It was obviously far more focussed on "the boys" than it was about the whole vought world being brought down, and that meant a lot of the tv series needed to be invented..

I could write a whole essay on this, but if they really go the route of Hughie killing Butcher to stop the spread of the virus it is going to carry so little weight when compared to the comics. Hell, even ignoring the comics, this finale is going to be so rushed and (1/2)

@wildflower_2 no and like I don’t understand how people can think Butcher is 100% in the right when M.M.’s whole arc this season has been centered around him separating himself from the ideals that led him to supporting Butcher and going back to who he used to be 😫

@JTImortalmisfit Out of the boys, yes, Hughie is the only one left! He and Annie get their happy ending. Also the deep is still alive and a few side characters like Susan Rayner, Kessler, Stillwell, etc.

@ConflictHurts Yes! He keeps flip flopping this season which I don’t understand if they want to make him be the antagonist by the end of the finale. Also the whole clara/soldier boy plot it so obviously thrown in there last minute like the writers forgot his whole thing with crimson

This is kinda hilarious, the guy whose opinion influenced a good chunk of people’s opinion on the comics saying the show should have had a similar ending to the comics. I completely agree btw, Butcher should have had more time as the main antagonist.

The Boys is a bad show. One good season. One alright one. Then it collapses. Butcher being the final villain should’ve been a season long arc. Hughie putting all he learned to heartbreakingly bring his friend/mentor down. Its problems are seasons old. Fatal problems. Oh well.

@ConflictHurts I actually enjoyed the ending of the comic, I won’t lie to you and say I thought it was perfect. There’s certainly LOTS of issues with the comic as a whole. As you said though, s4 has made it clear that there was no definitive ending planned.
