Ok...lifeguard left for the day now. Smoke really has cleared up now in Ocean City. It is pretty much gone now. This will set up for really big storms tomorrow here in NJ and basically most of the Northeast. Even the SPC saying smoke is gonna not be an issue.

Google Earth has recently incorporated NEW May 2026 Satellite Imagery of the destructive Enid, Oklahoma EF4 that occurred back in April. This satellite pass shows the extreme destruction, notably at the Southgate Rd Warehouses and 180mph maximum DI at the first loop. #wxtwitter

Tomorrow is probably the most potent severe weather environment the Mid-Atlantic has seen this year. Widespread strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to develop over Lakes Erie and Ontario before moving eastward. Tornadoes, hail, and damaging winds up to 80 MPH are likely.

Could get interesting Saturday night with showers and thunderstorms developing mostly after sunset through the overnight a few may reach severe limits. Surface Cap blah but mid levels decent as well as LR’s and Shear. Nevertheless looks like a good shot at some heavy rainfall.

July 16, 2024: Eleven torndoes impacted New York and New Hampshire. The strongest tornado of the day was a high-end EF2 that ripped through Rome, NY. Two churches and several old brick buildings were heavily damaged. One person was killed by an EF1 in Canastota, NY. #wxhistory

Becoming somewhat concerned for isolated instances of flash flooding Saturday PM. Repeating rounds of T-Storms are possible as a southerly component advects high levels of Theta & moisture influx into the region. Severe weather looks limited.
