1/Have spent the past 2 weeks in & out of bomb shelters. Everyone’s understandably distracted because the region is on fire. While all eyes are on Iran, violent settlers are thriving. A 5 year old Palestinian girl was run over in Umm al Khair. The perpetrator hasn’t been caught.

It seems another Jewish festival has been marked by darkness. I’m so sorry for all those in Sydney, Australia, who were affected by yesterday‘s shooting and my thoughts are with those who are mourning today, instead of celebrating. Chanukah is supposed to be a time to celebrate light in the darkness. I can’t think of a better way to mark Chanukah than by honouring the memory of Noya. Noya’s mother Galit and I have been friends all of our lives. My son is 10 months younger than her. Though she will always remain 13. Noya and her grandmother Carmela were murdered by Hamas on October 7th. Our hope was that Noya had been kidnapped. An awful thing to hope for. Even worse when we received confirmation that she had been murderered. Outside their family home stood a small sign which read “The way I am, just exactly, that’s the best there is.” I think this summarises Noya and her mother so perfectly. I’m in awe of my wonderful friend Galit who continues to do such wonderful things in the face of such unthinkable loss. If you can please donate and support her efforts to build the centre for the autistic experience in Noya’s memory. I hope that we can all find some light in the darkness and that we’re able to celebrate freely & without fear. jgive.com/new/en/ils/don…

We’re devastated by the attack at Bondi Beach and the murder of Jews celebrating Chanukah at a Chabad event in Australia. Our thoughts are with the victims and the Australian Jewish community. It should go without saying: Jews should be able to gather & celebrate without fear.

I’ve not been on social media as much recently. I’ve taken time to reflect on the past couple of years, and to think about what we do next. I wanted to share that we have published “To the Edge of the Border” - my father Oded’s legacy. A collection of essays and articles which tell the story of the state of Israel and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through my father’s eyes. A man of peace who dedicated his life to fighting for justice. The book was published on 25/10/2025 - two years after my father’s death, we wanted to make sure his voice is still heard. I’m so grateful to those who helped make this happen. Thank you to the editors who worked with me - Ruvik Rosenthal, Omer Einav, Nachum Barnea and Rakefet Zohar. As written in @Haaretz - “He understood that punishment, revenge and deterrence wouldn’t bring quiet. He knew that he and his friends living on the border would be the first to pay the price. That’s what he wanted to prevent, why he fought for peace. His death is tragic not because he was wrong, but because he was right.” haaretz.co.il/literature/202… I have much more to say, and I will share more about my father, the book and his legacy over the coming months. His voice has never been important and I hope it will help guide us to a path of peace. For now, the book is only available in Hebrew. Many Jewish leaders around the world were left embarrassed and outraged following Prime Minister Netanyahu’s shameful video. As Chair of the Knesset Committee for Immigration, Absorption and Diaspora Affairs, I would like to apologize and reiterate: Israel’s judicial system is independent, and no person is above the law. Our Jewish tradition teaches us that true leaders do not seek to break the law with impunity.

Settler violence is surging. It makes life in the West Bank impossible for Palestinians, and it’s aimed at forcing them to leave their land. Email your MP to urge the UK government to take firm action against settler violence: secure.yachad.org.uk/page/181646/ac…

1/ Settler violence in the West Bank continues to rise. Daily attacks on Palestinians, peace activists and even soldiers. These crimes go unpunished. Israel’s human rights community are working relentlessly to raise awareness & protect Palestinians. @rabbis4HR @peacenowisrael

30 years ago today Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated. On Saturday tens of thousands rallied for peace in Tel Aviv. Different politicians spoke, and there’s certainly space for criticism. But the sign they stood by was clear: yes to peace, no to violence.

It’s difficult to celebrate when so many people could have been saved, including my father. This suffering could have ended long ago. But I hope that at long last, this war is truly over and every single hostage is returned. Only then can we heal, recover and rebuild. The people of this region deserve better.

"It's a very tough thing to know there were decisions taken by the government of Israel that meant our loved ones did not survive... we are left with a very broken heart." @Lifschitz_sha whose father was killed after being taken hostage on October 7th says, "I think this government has used our plight, the plight of our people, for its own purposes."
