@Nyarloteph @Nay_Landell i know my family has been here since 1700s they were not slaves either. Actually britain was one of the first places that accepted free men. This generation came to work was quiet and blended well into life here so much so not much is know about the first generations

@Nay_Landell Nope wrong again. Blacks were a rarity and only found in port cities. Mostly they were slaves bought as a rarity to show off. Stop trying to claim British history as black history, its just not true.

@supernovaposie @Buschcorner I wasn’t here to argue with anyone about any of that. Simply correcting a statement that i seen that was factually incorrect. Also kinda offensive to the older generations that paved the way for everyone.

@Buschcorner @daniellexxcx I think you don't understand what's been happening and as has been pointed out they don't distinguish hence the original post. Too many old people abused in care homes, areas turned into pig stys, bad driving, fraud, belowing loud voice everywhere and hoggish behaviour.

@daniellexxcx @Buschcorner Yes but you're also missing the other point. Some guy whose family has been here 70 or so years being grouped with a guy who came off a plane and has the cultural behaviour of that. That is the issue.

@daniellexxcx @Buschcorner Im talking about tge relevance of your post. Of two sets of people who still look a bit more similar to each other than you do to them. I'm not saying you're not black if that's how you identify but no one is going to be thinking you just flew in from Lagos en mass.

@supernovaposie @Buschcorner So because i’m mixed i can’t identify as black british? Hahaha i come from the english city with the longest black and asian communities in the country. The one drop rule was very much a thing here. People look at me and see black always will stop with this nonsense

@daniellexxcx @Buschcorner The OP is talking about a specific set of people. You're a different group which did also include Carribeans btw but not a large amount. He's got a point about different groups of BLACK people not mixed.

@supernovaposie @Buschcorner Who said anything about caribbean. I don’t know what this argument you’re having with yourself is about. I stated black british doesn’t just apply to windrush. When people were called black british beforehand 💀🥲

@daniellexxcx You are black british. Some people forget tht the oldest black community in Europe is in Liverpool, England. A lot of merchant seamen came there from West Africa and established families. Cardiff is another old community.

@daniellexxcx @f4cts5tater A lot of ignorant people have no historical knowledge. Liverpool was one of the biggest port cities , so naturally it attracted immigrants from many backgrounds. I’ve got ancestors who were in Liverpool in the late 18th century, some settled there, others went back.

@daniellexxcx @f4cts5tater Funny thing is, Caribbeans weren’t the first Black population in Britain. Black communities already existed in places like Liverpool long before Windrush some dating back to the 18th centuries. The Windrush generation just more prominent because it was large-scale migration
