Under stairs magic. Place to cozy up and read or family cuddles. Most of these under stair spaces we leave undesigned until during trim. We make sure to have some wiring for whatever we might need, but otherwise give it time to marinade and let the story unfold a bit as we build. Not always possible, but whenever possible, very nice to leave room for creativity—to let the story unfold. Plan for the unplanned, and leave room for inspiration, to respond to the build.

Most of us grew up in houses this size. It amazes me that young couples all feel they need a house ten times this size to start out in. No wonder there is a housing crisis in this country. Drive by any new developments and you never see economical houses this size being built.
