@StefanMauk Yes, agree different forms of football in uncontrolled environments benefit development. Playing other sports up until a certain age (including athletics) may prolong motivation and avoid burning out. Seen this too much recently!

@danielmullen7 But isn’t that the point in the report? Football specific training is what creates the world’s best… even if it’s not in a controlled environment, street football, futsal, backyard football, is going to make you a better footballer than playing a different sport

@StefanMauk He would have been learning that as a result of his environment. I doubt he learned how to header the ball in traditional training environments. This is another point altogether…

@danielmullen7 I guess I have to disagree with you on this one… can’t imagine Gabriel in the favelas was playing marks up or diving for catches 😆 but he’s an absolute machine in the air with judging balls ( in both boxes) success leaves clues

@StefanMauk Yes and no. The problem is no one actually does it. Also, there is something about playing markers up or fielding in gully and reacting to an edge that definitely has transferable skills which is not trainable with a ⚽️

With Michael Matricciani's move to Melbourne City imminent, Campbelltown have announced that current player Daniel Mullen will be taking over the reigns in 2025.
His father, Joe, had an extremely successful stint as coach.
