@TMatich @ssskb33 Trevor, big fan here. What us fans are seeing, when looking at our numbers (most wins vs bowl eligible teams, most road wins vs bowl eligible teams) is that the one "metric" that is overriding BYU's SOS, SOR, and Top 25 wins is the committee's eye test. It needs to be called out!

I do believe BYU deserves a spot even if they lose in the Big 12 champ game. (I also think a loss in a conference champ game shouldn't be held against you, or benefit a team that didn't play in one.) But the way the rankings are stacked, it looks like they will need that last win. If they don't get the win, they will be competing with other 10-2 teams for an at-large bid. Some factors in their favor include a win over (currently) #13 Utah, and losses only to a top 5 team. Also, their Strength of Record is #6 in the nation, ahead of Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Vandy, and Notre Dame. None of those has the risk of playing in a conf champ game. Btw, Strength of Schedule is just #35 without factoring in the Big 12 champ game, but that's ahead of Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Indiana, and Ohio State. There's more to it than that, but the thing to remember is that the committee has already factored these and other metrics into the ranking (later tonight will be the final ranking). That's why BYU will almost certainly need to win the Big 12 to get in, whether or not they deserve it.

You can have one of two things, but you can't have both. 1. For me to be a homer. 2. For me to take a balanced, unbiased look at the bigger picture and the team. Go ahead, choose one.

They are tied for 1st among teams with wins against bowl eligible teams, and 1st in road wins against bowl eligible teams. Yet SEC teams lose to Florida & FSU.

From 5 wins last year to 11 wins this season. What a year this BYU team gave us! Appreciate the leadership from SR’s like Conor Pay, Tyler Batty, & Jakob Robinson. With all of the returning production coming back, this team should easily be a Top 15 team & Top 2 in Big XII.

@BrammerHammer23 @GSwaim "IF" this was a possibility, BYU gives SEC a western and pacific time zone they don't have. BYU also aligns more politically to the conservative SEC fan bases and schools. I could see a Utah to BIG and BYU to SEC scenario if they both went to 24 teams.

@GSwaim Geographically BYU doesn't make sense for the SEC, but does with B1G. Every other viable metric they make sense for both conferences. Its not gonna happen.

BREAKING NEWS: The #B1G and #SEC are both preparing to expand soon, poaching the best of the #ACC...and even the #Big12. Obviously no team in either the #ACC nor #Big12 can turn down that kind of money, but I'm told don't be shocked if the #BigTwo even attempt to entice schools away from each other...most notably #TAMU. Probably not a huge surprise it would happen eventually, but guess we'll see now if the GOR really protects the #Big12 now!! 🏈🏀

The Big12 is realizing they made a HUGE mistake. Last year, they had a tremendous opportunity to expand to Dallas. Instead, they opted for Orlando and those creepy Mormons. This is a historic shift for the rise of the PAC12 and the fall of the Big12.

@ShaneWh38092189 @cheesefries73 @TheUFanCast UCF has been a good G5 program. Having been in FL for most of my adult life. There is no way UCF is going to the SEC with FL ST and MIA waiting in line. And the big 3 FL schools won't let UCF in any way. Now, beyond 15 years or so.... anything can happen, I suppose.

@cheesefries73 @TheUFanCast UCF has enrollment of 70,000 in one of the best football recruiting areas in the country. They just became an FBS team in 1996 and they’re already in a Power 5. Reputable sources say that If the SEC was to expand UCF would be a target. Neither SMU or SDSU are better.

If the Pac-12's answer to USC/UCLA departing & Big XII expansion is SMU & SDSU, it's probably time for Utah, Oregon, UW, & CU to explore other options.🤦🏻‍♂️

They are seen as a good program experiencing good seasons - in part because of the failures of WA, SC, and OR. Out East and in the South, Utah = Minnesota, Indiana, WF, Wash St.
