Humans are wired to defend their tribe. When our religion or culture is criticised, it can feel like a personal attack. That instinct makes internal criticism uncomfortable. But moral courage means speaking up anyway. If something wrong is happening within our own community, we should be the first to say so. Not the last. Waiting until other communities raise the issue only proves we have failed to hold ourselves accountable. I am a Malaysian Indian. Malaysians are my tribe.
