@offtheball @DermotCorry What has the FRC done when a renowned rugby coach is on about teaching gaelic footballers how to kick a ball. How long will it be before a ball is kicked more often in a game of rugby than in a game of gaelic football? A slippery slope

🗣️ 'Gaelic footballers, there's a massive emphasis on distance... it'd be really interesting to see if they would learn to practice by kicking more balls but with less effort...' One of the world's foremost rugby kicking coaches, Dave Alred shares some advice for Gaelic football kickers on how to improve accuracy, and preserve energy while kicking. | 🏐🏉 Wednesday Night Rugby on Off The Ball with @BankOfIreland | #NeverStopCompeting

Let’s do a thought experiment. There is a UI, Unionists stand for election to the Oireachtas, they win seats and refuse to take those seats denying representation to all of the constituency. Would those in the constituency & RoI accept this situation?

@richardtgarland Can you not get your head around the fact that they're not Irish language signs? They're bilingual. If you have a problem distinguishing the two languages, maybe there's someone you can see about that

Hard to understand the logic of Sinn Fein and SDLP trying to push for imposition of Irish language signs on a street where 67.47% of residents have voiced their opposition to the move, with only 15.66% speaking up in support. Do these people support democracy or not?

@m_brosnan How do teams hold onto the ball when they want to run the clock down. They handpass it back and forward to death. How many times does the ball be kick passed in this time? Teams don't kick the ball as it carries a bigger risk of giving it away.

@JP_Biz Storm Eowyn was rare but still ESB profits are high thanks to soaring energy bills. The network is substandard and the bill payers continue to get fleeced.

ESB, the Irish state enterprise which owns the electricity grid on both parts of the island, made an operating profit of €914m last year. NIE Networks accounted for €99m of that. Profits were down mainly due to costs associated with Storm Éowyn.

@timmckane The whole point of the big guys show is to deepen division and to oppose any kind of integration. If this place was at peace with itself in a lesser sectarian society there would be need for his show. He knows that so he feeds into it whilst swimming in cash

One wonders what the host of #NolanLive thinks when he puts up a graphic showing the average wage in NI is £37,100 and MLAs are going to be paid £67,200, and he gets paid over £500,000 from the public purse for what exactly? Going on the radio and telly? That we’re the stupid ones?

The FAI today released their new football strategy, outlining the roadmap for Irish football over the coming years. Some key targets from the plan include: • €865 million investment needed in football facilities across Ireland. • Building 5 UEFA Category 3 stadiums and 15 UEFA Category 2 stadiums. • A 15-year funding ambition of €426 million for football development. • Significant investment into League of Ireland academies and club staffing. • Expanding grassroots participation and improving pathways in women’s and girls’ football. • A renewed focus on regular qualification for major international tournaments. The report also highlights the scale of the infrastructure gap in Irish football with 62% of grassroots clubs currently lacking female toilets. A hugely ambitious plan that aims to address long-standing structural issues within the game in Ireland.
