During my recent and much-needed vacation in India, I had taken a short break from posting about our brave Dogra Warriors. Now that I have returned and Jetlag is over, I wish to continue our Dogra Warrior Series. As today is Sunday, I would like to pay our humble tribute once again to our brave Dogra warriors. This Sunday, I would like to share my personal experience of visiting the Ibadat-e-Shahadat Museum in Badami Bagh Army Cantonment, Srinagar, last week of April. The building was originally constructed between 1926 and 1930 during the reign of Sri Hazur Maharaja Hari Singh Sahib Bahadur. In 1994, the Indian Army transformed this historic structure into a memorial museum at the headquarters of the 15 Corps (Chinar Corps). The name Ibadat-e-Shahadat translates to “Worship of Martyrdom” or “Devotion to Sacrifice,” which beautifully reflects the spirit of the place. Inside the museum, I saw captured weapons, IEDs, rifles, and other materials recovered from terrorists, along with photographs, uniforms, and stories of brave soldiers who laid down their lives in the service of the nation. The visit was deeply moving and enlightening. This directly echoes the same narrative that Pakistan and anti-national elements have been pushing for decades on international platforms. What is even more worrying is that many young people in the comment section are appreciating and enjoying this without understanding the implications. Jammu & Kashmir was ruled by the Dogra dynasty for nearly a hundred years before its accession to India. Ignoring this historical context and casually promoting such narratives is irresponsible. How are cricketing authorities and concerned institutions allowing this without scrutiny? The relevant authorities should take note of this matter and seek an explanation.
