Lock Up (1989) is one of my favorite Stallone flicks. When he plays humble, well meaning characters (eg Rocky Balboa) he connects best with the audience.

Over the Top is one of Stallone’s most underrated offerings. And Lincoln Hawk has to be one of the best character names in cinema. I think it even tops Cruise’s Cole Trickle.

@FlyingKulau @RevReads289 That’s not quite how that works. Churches pay a flat CCLI license fee, and royalties are distributed based on what songs are reported as used. I don’t know of any churches that report what songs they actually sing.

@RevReads289 An issue with singing songs by Bethel, Elevation, and Hillside is that you are paying them for the rights to sing their songs, enabling them to flourish in their bad ministries.

For hundreds of years people have been singing Christian songs by writers to whom they do not share the same theological views. And they never ended up following those views after singing their songs.

Rocky V (1990) might be uneven, but that flashback with Burgess Meredith makes the whole movie worth it. Mickey telling Rocky “get up, you son of a bitch, ’cause Mickey loves ya” still hits harder than anything else in the film.
