@alightinastorm Right now you just have a point cloud (a dark one at that) so they are not actual splats yet. You need to get the ellipsoid shape, scale and rotation working, which prob won’t effect render speed, just decoding.

So i vibe coded a threejs webgpu splat renderer from scratch in an evening with gpt 5.4 Introducing Spark++ Give it a week or two, performance is slightly worse on fast camera movements but 60 fps on my toaster in less dense areas. Had to reduce overall density for screen recording, but it works on webgpu! Working on a splat renderer makes the limits of AI coding very clear. Suitable FPS is incredibly finicky when dealing with massive scenes. The main dev on the sparkjs has gone back to hand coding the renderer. Although tests, demos, prototypes etc. are still AI.

From 2D video to a very rough 4D Gaussian Splatting POC on the Apple Vision Pro 👀 Took Big Buck Bunny frames, turned them into Gaussian splats with Sharp (Apple), compressed them with @playcanvas splat transform to SOG, and played all frames via WebXR + @sparkjsdev Still rough and not fully optimized, but wow, dynamic GS in AVP feels wild 🤯 Second part of the video is on my laptop #threejs

The SHARP model from Apple is pretty amazing. I was able to generate a surprisingly good 3D Gaussian splat from the Big Sur wallpaper in just a few seconds. This is the kind of tech that belonged in sci-fi movies not too long ago.

One tip to speed up your SwiftUI previews 🤩 I wanted to centralize constants like opacity, spacing, or sizes used by my View to speed up prototyping. Stored properties: slow 🐌 as Xcode recompiles the file every time I tweak a value. Computed properties: instant updates 🏎️

@Luckyballa Are you on a full Release profile? IDK if that makes as much of a difference on Vision Pro, but certainly does on iOS. Metal Splatter package is great but only if not in Debug mode.
